    Vizio XVT553SV initial setup issue?

Last year a Vizio XVT553SV came into my shop after lightning strike. We fixed the set with a refurb mainboard from shopjimmy and customer had his set back within a week.
A few weeks ago this customer returned with his XVT553SV complaining that his power had flickered and his set was now in a boot loop. I plug it in, the vizio logo goes from amber to white for a minute or two and then solid amber, then you can turn it on but only vizio logo shows and after about 5 minutes the set recycles.

Customer didn't want repaired this time, just wanted an insurance estimate. Said it went out the day before the superbowl and he had already purchased a new set. Customer didn't give me the remote though.

So, this time ShopJimmy didn't have the main-board in stock. I did some searching around and found one on ebay and was reluctant but purchased it anyway. After install, when I turn on the set it takes me to initial remote setup. Problem, I don't have the remote. I've tried all the Vizio remotes here in the shop but none seem to work. I called customer but he already tossed the Bluetooth remote. I purchased replacement on Amazon last night but today I'm concerned that the problem is bigger than the remote. It makes no sense that it would just lock itself up at this setup screen. I have 2 other Vizio remotes and I've tried putting the TV in IR mode with both remotes but I get nothing.

Any thoughts? Anyone have one of these sets can verify that I need the remote to get past the initial setup? Any other thoughts?

      Mine locked in set-up mode

      My xvt323sv will set-up with a replacement remote. I ordered a
VIZIO VR17 from Amazon for less than $10 shipping included. I have the bluetooth remote that also has ir. It started working on ir after I ordered the from Amazon, that was after a hard reset. Do you have any of the problems thats in my thread?

I have a Vizio XVT473SV and I am using a direct TV remote controller. I just google your model and found the user manual, these model share the same manual: VIZIO XVT423SV, XVT473SV, and XVT553SV. I will say you don't need the original from Vizio for initial set up

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

DeLonghi AC Remote only accepts 3V
          by cstout
Hello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.

The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.

          I can't find any schematics...

          Vizio M65-C1
          by mrtek
          Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

Toshiba 50lf711u20 fire tv remote not pairing
          by Mc_Millian
          Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help my in pairing a remote with a Toshiba fire tv?
The Tv model number is: 50lf711u20 Rev B.

I've already replaced all the the circuit boards within the tv along with the I.R. sensor receiver.

I've tried 3 different remotes which should be fully compatible with this TV.

Oddly enough. A few if the buttons on all of the remotes actually work. Even without pairing...which makes no sense.

The power button, along with the volume, back, select, and directional...

HiSense 55A7500F won't obbey to remote after power on
          by edugimeno
Hi! I have this TV set that does the following:
          1) I press the red power button on the remote
          2) The TV turns on normally
          3) After that it won't take any other command from the remote, neither power off, volume, channel, NOTHING
          4) We need to either pull the main cable or use the built in button at the bottom to select funcion OFF

Then after it's off, it would again accept the TURN ON from the remote and same again

          BUT:
-The remote does show the correct IR beam while observed thru a phone camera
-The TV works fine while using the MiRemote...
