    Slight Off-Color Shimmer LG 50PK540

    Well, the news isn't ALL good with an LG 50PK540 I have been working on..

    I put everything all together, hooked up a PS3 and noticed a very slight shimmer at boot up..

    Not sure if it's just a setting issue, but wanted to run it by the experts...

      Looks like dithering - it's normal for plasmas, it's how they work. Shouldn't be visible at 6-10 ft.

          Was going to do that and see if it improves..

          I attached another pic that shows the sparklies more clearly... It's from the EMP screen of the HOMEFRONT game...

                  Hi, I have an Asus VX24AH monitor that suddenly went black and didn't display a logo when I switched it on. After extensive research (also thanks to this forum) I was able to get it to show a picture by disconnecting the STV (VSTB1). Unfortunately, the right side now shows horizontal stripes and it looks like every 2nd pixel row is missing.
                  Can anyone help me with this? Can it still be saved? I would also appreciate links and references to literature or other information.

                  Before disconnecting, the test point of VSTA1 and VSTB1 only measured 30 ohms. I therefore disconnected...

                  Slight backlight problem after replacing main AV card on LG 65UB680

                  Hi,
                  I was struggling to find replacement of the main AV card for 65" LED LG TV 65UB680 and finally I have purchased main board for 79" model 79UB680.
                  Board does fit and works except slight problem with backilight at startup where two bit darker bands are visible. As soon as picture is displayed fault is not visible. I believe that such fault is caused by different firmware design for bigger screen.

                  Could you let me know how to access service menu on that model to change screen size?

                  I have tried common metods like "Press and hold <OK>...

                  Hello all ~

                  I picked up this 60" LG the other day and it has the following signs / issues:


                  1) Displaying a primarily pink and green screen that alters its look on occasion and particularly can change if the set is turned on and off (see picture set below).

                  NOTE: All of the pictures uploaded upside down, and I could not correct it. So, please view them as such. You can see the base stand at the top of the photos.

                  can anyone advise me about most of samsung power supplies,most of them when you put the main supply and switch on the tv ,voltage drops from high to zero ,like when i test Vs voltage maybe Vs is 208 ,then it drops from 208 to zero .i make this disconnecting Z andY board for a power supply test.is it a faulty logic board or the main board itself?i really have no understanding about this issue.

                  They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. That is the best way to describe what my issue is. These lines appear to the right of higher contrast areas of the picture.

                  Everything else on this set is 100% operational. I have changed the TCon with no effect. The ribbon cables from the Main Board and the TCon have been cleaned, again with no change to the picture quality. While the picture I have attached is a built in Menu system, the same issue occurs on OTA and HDMI inputs.

                  Any ideas???
