Samsung Plasma PN50A550S1FXZA - Power Cycle, but eventually turns on.

    Hi All,

I am new the forum and looking for some advice.

    I have a Samsung Plasma PN50A550S1FXZA.
It was sporadically power cycling every few months. It would power cycle for a couple minutes, then it would turn on and work fine. It never turns itself off like a lot people are saying is a common symptom. Mine stays on until I turn it off myself. It only cycles on the initial turn on.

recently is is power cycling every time i turn it on, but it eventually turns on and works great.

I took the back off and inspected all the capacitors. I thought I saw a bulging one on the Y systain board. (BN96-07132A, LJ41-05571A, LJ92-01535A REV: AA1). I ordered a replacement on Ebay. I installed it. And for about a week, the power cycling went away. I thought great. problem solved.
But this weekend it starting cycling again, doing the exact same issue - power cycles for a few minutes, then it comes in and works great.

What else could be the problem?
Any advice would be great. I am a rookie and have little skills in solding.

    Thanks
    Str8

Posting pictures of the back of your tv showing the boards with clear pictures may help you more with fixing your problem

I will do that when I get a chance. I was hoping someone could help diagnose the problem from the symptoms to give me an avenue to persue.

You can try soldering 100uF 10V low ESR (higher Voltage is OK) in parallel with C102 which is on the bottom side of the main board.
This is the common failure for the A500 series.

I was sceptical. But I did parallel the c102.
I was amazed when the set came on. This is still early on, but I will test this more, before returning this to the customer. Great thanks to whomever posted this fix originally!

MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable
              by Stephen
MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

LG L192WS-BN backlight turns off after 1 second
              by www
I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

              by meraklinetx
Hello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
              by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

Magnavox 32MD350B/F7 getting a false on/off control voltage
              by barrybahr
              Hello,
The unit is stuck in an intermittent on/off cycle. When I plug in the power cord, the green "On" light activates without any command, flashes for a few seconds, then turns off. The red standby light comes on for a few seconds before the cycle repeats. During this time, I cannot turn off the unit manually; it will shut off automatically after about five minutes, and there is no picture. Occasionally, with repeated attempts to power it on, I eventually get a picture and sound, which function properly. When it does work, I measure several voltages, and they appear to be normal....
