I didn't use the cool spray. I just watched the difference netween the 2 sides to ground and was 23volts anode and 23.5 Cathode in reference to chasis ground.

In reference to the anode and cathode while OFF there was identical or near identical readings ( straight across ) @.450 or so..can't remember number. While on I got similar results between the 2 sides measuring anode and cathode.

Think your right...4148 don't think will work. Testing..my old one goes to 1 volt on the test. Any ideas? If I missed a test..please explain.

I tested a 3.3v Zener next to my SO CALLED DIODE ( program confirms ) and they look close.Click image for larger version

Your program does not show reverse bias, (a zener works as a normal diode forward bias, but has a low and controlled reverse breakdown unlike a normal diode)

"Raised it an inch off the board and put drops of coolant on it. As for voltage..the black mark cathode is 23.5 volts and the anode is 23.0."
Well, we are still trying to verify the Voltage readings when the TV DOES NOT WORK, and when you use the coolant on the diode to make the TV work, you should see difference Voltage readings when the TV works and when the TV does not work.

"I didn't use the cool spray. I just watched the difference between the 2 sides to ground and was 23volts anode and 23.5 Cathode in reference to chasis ground." So is this when the TV DOES Not work or when the TV is working?
For example of the Voltage readings when the TV does not and when the TV works: "my TV does not work when the 5V standby Voltage is at 4V, if I cool it down the OUTPUT is at 5V then the TV works again"
So what are the Voltage readings on the Diode when the TV works and when it does not work?

I have replaced a lot of zener diodes from 24v to 270v. Most were in the 27 to 48 volt range

Please hold on this post for now. After more testing, there are more issues then just the diode. I can use this TV up to about a few minutes. It is starting to fail more often now. You can use the menu up to just before it shuts off. The menu will freeze and not respond. Then a few seconds later...it turns off until cool. There is no voltage other then the 5 volts when it cuts off. The diode which I am starting to think is ok after testing on the device I have. Does this sound like an EEPROM? It does work but not for long. I have changed the regulators as they where high. I suppose it could be a reflow issue???? Thanks everyone!!!! If I find something notable..I will add but for now..looks like I will have to replace the board unless someone has a more logical idea. Again, I think the diode is ok and thanks for the post helping me figure that out.

Element 32 inches tv (ELEFW328B) Unknown component: Diode or zener?
                      by Vincenzo2
My Element 32 inches tv (ELEFW328B) lost it's backlight (confirmed with a flashlight test) and the connector on the PCB (it has one board that has a processor chip, switch mode power supply, and backlight circuit) that has the two wires that go to the backlight LED strips has a very low voltage (28-29 volts) when turned ON, in my opinion.

Started testing components and found an SMD diode or zener that is shorted (even zero fusing resistors read a few tens of milliohms, while this thing reads zero).

I put some pictures here to show that it is labeled "M7"....

                      TV backlight zener diode
                      by unimatrix93
Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.

So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.

Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.

The led strips has 9 6V leds.

I have bought this Zener Diode for this project what size and wattage resistor value do I need to use to get near 50 watt output
I bought this from an eBay seller but unfortunately they only had one

I bought three from Vetco Electronics these are Sylvania ECG5185A 9.1@10w A to Stud what size and watt resistor do I need to use to get near 10 watt output
I bought three of from them to also make battery packs with this output power limit in mind

I want to use this battery pack and turn it into a 9.1 output battery pack output to eliminate using 9 volt battery...

What zener diode might fix the sound on Maestro Mayhem gaming chair?
                      by nev1001
Hi, I'm looking for a bit of help trying to fix the audio unit from a Maestro Mayhem 4.1 gaming chair please.

The chair has a few speakers and vibration motors. All was well, for a while, but now the sound is gone.

It may be significant that I discovered my son was powering it with a 19V laptop charger when it should run on 12V - it did fully work, for bit.

I think an issue could be a zener diode (or capacitor) which has shorted out.

The board's bluetooth input still works, the vibration motors are working, so is the line out socket but not the...

Corsair RM1000e - Help identify 5VSB Zener diode
                      by hobostove
Hey there guys. I've got a Corsair power supply that's come across my bench dead. I usually don't mess with power supplies, but it's a slow week so I'm giving it a whirl.

Taking it apart I heard a screw rattling around inside, and when I got it apart I found a couple blown components near what I think is the 5VSB area.

There's a 22ohm resistor that's melted and open, but it still has the bands.

The other part is a zener diode and it's top went to jesus, so I can't read the marking.

It looks like the diode connects the source and drain of a TNY284...
