Should those be tested with the unit powered up??

Just in case you were wondering or anyone spots it the test for the bridge was not quite correct - It was ok for testing for a short but to test correctly meter should be in Diode mode - hence the reason for reversing the leads should show something one way and infinity when the leads swapped.

    The right one...

    1-2 6.7 Mohms
    3-4 1.69 Mohms

    The left one...

    1-2 8.7 Mohms

Yes - we are only doing this as you seemed to suggest there was no power but a short cut and often easier to get at is to test the BIG caps voltage maybe up to 400DC
    so again careful does it.

That always scares me the crap, as my grandson would say.. But, better to be scared and cautious then brave and stoopid..

The meter I have is auto-adjusting so I don't need to worry about settings beyond the AC/DC setting..

They are fairly accessible, but I'll check the connections this way first...

If the pins are visible/ touchable from the top of the board set your meter on 600vdc and
test the outer two pins. VERY carefully!!
THEN metre on 600vAC test middle two pins. should be same as mains voltage.
Also test the resistance of the green glass? component near the mains socket.

If the BRs are not easily accessible or you dont want to mess with high voltages
you can do an ohms2000 test on the bridge with power OFF 1 to 2 then rverse the probes and test again then 3 to4 then reverse the probes and just as final test

OK I get about 16ohms +/- .2 or so on the gray components

The bridge rectifiers look in good shape. No burns, bulges or blows... Can I check their voltages??

And I GOT my meter this time!!

    Yea, fuses check out OK..

Next two gray components between the two relays and the edge of the board.

    Refering to pic. There?? RED

Next Looks like two?? Bridge Rectifiers on the end of the heatsink often suffer in surges

    There?? BLUE

Well it is meter time- Fuses ok?-

Think some sort of surge protectors - test them for resistance.

OK, unplugged the X and Y boards..

The VS acted a little different. It counted up slowly from .000v to around .035v.. But it got no where near the 201v it should be..

I didn't even bother checking the VA, as it's obvious the power PCB is shot...

Thanx for the input.. Still no chance to play with my Rigol!!

Unplug power connectors to X & Y boards and see if VS & VA come on and stay on. If not then PSU, if so then X or Y have problems.

LG was the victim of a lightning strike. No bad caps or burn marks, no scorched areas at all..

I get no power on VS or VA.. Zilch.. Nada.. None..

So, I am thinking bad power PCB....

Panasonic TH-50PX8EA Black screen, only relay clicks
    by Rensiee
    Hello,
I have been reading a few threads on here regarding Panasonic plasma tv's. I've found one thread which explains the same problem as mine, unfortunately the thread has not been completed.
I got a free tv (TH-50PX8EA) from a friend which shows no screen. When plugged in only one red light shows up and when pushing the ON button, the red LED turns of and will only turn on again when pressing the ON button again.

When plugging in the TV i hear two relays click fast and after a few seconds the third relay clicks.
I have measured the voltage in the VSUS line, which...

Samsung LN46b530p7f – relay clicks and backlight cycling, sound OK
    by momaka
I got this TV a little over a year ago from a coworker from my previous job. It’s a Samsung 46” TV, model number LN46b530p7f.

    Problem:
    Backlight cycles On and Off.
Basically, when the TV is turned On, there is a relay click heard from the TV PS board. The relay cycles On and Off 4 times in about 2-3 second intervals. Each of those 4 times, the backlights also cycle On and Off with the relay. The screen TFT isn’t cracked/damaged and appears to work - I can see a “no signal” image when the backlights turn On briefly – though the image is a bit dull/dark....

    toshiba 46xv555d relay clicks
    by samtron786
    Hello
The red and green LEDs both light up and you can hear the relay click. (no picture, no backlight, no sound)
2-3 seconds later the relay will click again and only the red LED will stay on.

I would be very grateful for any advice or a little help.
    circuit diagram?

    Thanks very much

    9V relay temperature 40C
    by jm1234
Hi, I'm seeing one 9V relay having temperature 40C on its 9V (primary) side. Does that seem right? I switched 2 relays on that board and the temperature was the same (on the same position), so I'm sure it's not a faulty relay. I measured voltage on that relay and it was 9.5V DC, so that looks good. I don't see any other relay on that board having that kind of temperature and they have 9V on them too.
I thought maybe the transistor that is switching this relay keeps switching on/off, so I also checked for AC and there was almost none: 0.3V using mV range. No steady frequency was shown, but...

Biomass Boiler not driving cleaner motor relay. ENERTRES BIOMASA BI-650
    by edugimeno
    Hi everyone!
I have this board that suddenly stopped supplying power to an output that drives an interchanger cleaner motor.
I checked while the board was in place with all wires attached and there's no AC voltage on the corresponding plug X5
This X5 is driven by fuse F8 (tested OK) which comes from the second orange relay
To make sure there are no charcoaled contacts inside the relay, I got a 24VDC power supply and got it ready to manually power up the coil side of these relays.
I respected the polarity, positive to cathode of protecting diode
    So provided all...
