Re: LG Plasma 50PK540 Lightning Victim LED Light Relay Clicks On Plug In Nothing Else
OK, I de-soldered the D304...
When I use the meter in DIODE mode, I get 0L v one way and .20 v with a tone the other way...
When I use the meter in OHM mode, I get 20K ohm one way and .568M ohm the other way...

To help a little along here. SJ makes a power supply repair kit for 25$. Look at at the stuff they change out and check yours. http://www.shopjimmy.com/lg-eay60968...repair-kit.htm
Hopefully you not end up like

Doesnt look good -but need to lift one leg to test again as it may be in parallel
to some high resistance.
Did you get your market cameras fitted - dont know when you have had time!Leave a comment:

All the voltages check out on the AC-DETECT.. 17v, 5v all present in their appropriate pins..Leave a comment:

Re: LG Plasma 50PK540 Lightning Victim LED Light Relay Clicks On Plug In Nothing Else
on diode mode - did you press twice?
A Buzz suggests something there and meter may report overscale as .00
If you can get it into ohms try that .test one way should be over scale and when you reverse the probes a reading more than 30 ohms
Whole board would be good - four quarters might do. Need to follow where the traces go from the
vs/va sockets - not that I am very good at following circuit traces.Last edited by selldoor; 01-21-2015, 08:23 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: LG Plasma 50PK540 Lightning Victim LED Light Relay Clicks On Plug In Nothing Else
Yes sad isnt itIt is never going to light a bulb - we are going to need a schematic ( I half looked the other day then gave up) or a picture of the back of the board - will need to be the best picture you have posted. If you cant get it really clear so we can see the traces dont bother posting it.
I'll also check the other pins of the AC-DETECT connector..Leave a comment:

Re: LG Plasma 50PK540 Lightning Victim LED Light Relay Clicks On Plug In Nothing Else
Interesting idea.. Lemme assemble the parts..
I would assume it won't light the bulbs, as I get no reading on VS....
But ya know what happens when ya make an assumption..
Ya make an ass out of 'U' and 'umption'
EDIT: I hope you know I was trying to be funny and wasn't calling you an ass..Last edited by Michale32086; 01-21-2015, 08:04 AM.Leave a comment:

EDIT
Do you get any other voltages on the connector where you did the ACdetect test

Re: LG Plasma 50PK540 Lightning Victim LED Light Relay Clicks On Plug In Nothing Else
A check on the diode (D304) in diode-mode gives me a tone and a .00 on the reading..
I assume that means a direct short??Leave a comment:

In fact I dont think it matters on DC except it might come up with a minus sign
(That is what my crappy $5 meter does)

by RensieeHello,
I have been reading a few threads on here regarding Panasonic plasma tv's. I've found one thread which explains the same problem as mine, unfortunately the thread has not been completed.
I got a free tv (TH-50PX8EA) from a friend which shows no screen. When plugged in only one red light shows up and when pushing the ON button, the red LED turns of and will only turn on again when pressing the ON button again.
When plugging in the TV i hear two relays click fast and after a few seconds the third relay clicks.
I have measured the voltage in the VSUS line, which...06-18-2024, 12:58 PM -
by momakaI got this TV a little over a year ago from a coworker from my previous job. It’s a Samsung 46” TV, model number LN46b530p7f.
Problem:
Backlight cycles On and Off.
Basically, when the TV is turned On, there is a relay click heard from the TV PS board. The relay cycles On and Off 4 times in about 2-3 second intervals. Each of those 4 times, the backlights also cycle On and Off with the relay. The screen TFT isn’t cracked/damaged and appears to work - I can see a “no signal” image when the backlights turn On briefly – though the image is a bit dull/dark.... -
by samtron786Hello
The red and green LEDs both light up and you can hear the relay click. (no picture, no backlight, no sound)
2-3 seconds later the relay will click again and only the red LED will stay on.
I would be very grateful for any advice or a little help.
circuit diagram?
Thanks very much -
by jm1234Hi, I'm seeing one 9V relay having temperature 40C on its 9V (primary) side. Does that seem right? I switched 2 relays on that board and the temperature was the same (on the same position), so I'm sure it's not a faulty relay. I measured voltage on that relay and it was 9.5V DC, so that looks good. I don't see any other relay on that board having that kind of temperature and they have 9V on them too.
I thought maybe the transistor that is switching this relay keeps switching on/off, so I also checked for AC and there was almost none: 0.3V using mV range. No steady frequency was shown, but... -
by edugimenoHi everyone!
I have this board that suddenly stopped supplying power to an output that drives an interchanger cleaner motor.
I checked while the board was in place with all wires attached and there's no AC voltage on the corresponding plug X5
This X5 is driven by fuse F8 (tested OK) which comes from the second orange relay
To make sure there are no charcoaled contacts inside the relay, I got a 24VDC power supply and got it ready to manually power up the coil side of these relays.
I respected the polarity, positive to cathode of protecting diode
So provided all... - Loading...
