I have an lg plasma 60pa5500 that the y sustain board burnt up in. I just replaced the y sus board. A picture now comes on but it's not clear and now the tv cuts off shortly after cutting the tv on. When I unplug the power to the y sus board the tv will come on and stay on with sound. Any help is appreciated.

I have the gauge to test with and I found the sticker u were referring to but I'm not sure where I touch the gauge to test.Comment

Can you post a picture of your "gauge" (multimeter I presume)Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Lg plasma 60pa5500 picture issues
Ok for these tests you'll need to set your meter to DC volts (DCV) 1000V scale.
Red lead in Volt/mA jack, black in COM.
Place leads across Vsc and -Vy resistors on Y-sustain. These will be marked usually. The Y-sustain is the large left hand board (looking from the back).
Tell us what you measure. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Lg plasma 60pa5500 picture issues
not sure what the little plastic screws that go in to the vac and -vy do but I turned them all the way counter clock wise and it came on and stayed on. But he screen was still not right. Pixels were showing rainbow and still had a big black spot In one corner. Thinking there are two more plastic screws on the y-sis board what can it hurt to turns those as well and the picture appears to be fixed. Can someone tell me what those plastic screws do ? Thanks in advanceComment

Re: Lg plasma 60pa5500 picture issues
It is a bad idea to adjust those controls without knowing what they are supposed to be set to. I hope you remember the original position. Put them back in to that position and test Vsc and -Vy as mmartell suggests. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Lg plasma 60pa5500 picture issues
Better pics of each board will us help you figure out where to test each voltage.
PSU usually has test points for the VS and VA voltages. Top of board clearly marked. If these are not to spec then other voltages will be off. The value is on the sticker on the panel. Vsc and -Vy are on Y sus, VE is on X sus.
These voltages can be enough to KILL so be careful when testing.
When testing volts on the boards ground lead goes to the metal chassis of TV positive lead to the various test points.
The plastic screws are potentiometers for fine tuning each voltage to spec.
If the volts get too high the panel will be damaged beyond repair.Last edited by MagicSmoke; 01-26-2015, 07:59 PM.Comment

Re: Lg plasma 60pa5500 picture issues
Ok thanks. I'll put a pic of y sus board up. When I installed the new y-sus board I turned the plastic screws all he way right thinking I was tighting everything up. I turn them all the way left and everything started working correctly wish I had know what they were from the get go. Glad I came back here to see what u guys said.Last edited by Nrollins04; 01-26-2015, 09:01 PM.Comment

Re: Lg plasma 60pa5500 picture issues
VS is high adjust vs pot to bring it down to spec. Vsc and -Vy is very low, -Vy looks like it should be -185v .
I'm not familiar enough with the IPM boards to be more helpful but there are people here that will.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by jb_BakHey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.
Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:

by stecosHi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.
Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.

by r-pStarting this thread because Capkid doesn't seem to be reprogramming controlboards anymore (LG 60PZ950 with red maldischarge) and my game-plasma also has maldischarge (Hitachi 42PD3200). So I will grasp at straws to keep them running. I am extremely bad at throwing stuff away.
Is there any merit to this link?
Very short version: Specific caps seem to loose their capacitance and/or increase their ESR. This may cause the maldischarge. Replace them with better/bigger/newer ones and problem solved.
From the limited knowledge I have on the subject, I think...01-21-2020, 05:16 PM -
by ermalsHi all!
I've recently run into an issue with my Samsung UN55H8000AF LED TV displaying no image. I've done quite a bit of research in terms of what could be wrong with it. Below are the steps I've taken prior to reaching out here for some assistance:
1. I've tried replacing the T-Con board (BN95-01594A), twice and have still experienced the same issue with all the boards I've tested with.
2. I've tried to remove one side of the ribbon cable that goes from the T-Con board to the panel and still not getting any image on left or right side.
3. I've checked voltages... - Loading...
