Re: Panasonic TC-P46X3 14 Blink Code
Well got the new board today...
I installed the board and tested for shorts in the same way as I did before.
The board tested good. This was done before I powered up.
I carefully and meticulously reconnected everything that was disconnected.
The TV didn't start up. I went through the checks of the SS board and verified the SS board is once again the problem. A 2nd check of the new (used) SS board confirms it is shorted on the VSUS pin (white wire).
So..... Unless I'm just really unlucky, something is causing the SS board to short out.
Any ideas?Comment

SS3 - The top point on the SS board (white wire that leads to SN board) is shorted
If that's shorted puts a ? on SN3
SS11 - top pin (white wire leads to pho are 15v) is shorted
Top pin is Vsus, what is pho?
SS11 - bottom pin is good
bottom pin is 15VComment

SN3 -The point on the SN board is ok - Open circuit
SS3 - The top point on the SS board (white wire that leads to SN board) is shorted
If that's shorted puts a ? on SN3
SS11 - top pin (white wire leads to pho are 15v) is shorted
Top pin is Vsus, what is pho? Sorry Typo. Dang Iphone auto correct. Supposed to be P board. Not Pho

Re: Panasonic TC-P46X3 14 Blink Code
TW005,
Think about this again. I didn't check the SS3 on the new board before I powered up. I only checked the 2 points on SS11 that you originally asked me to check.
There's a possibility that SS3 was bad on the new board to start. No telling now.
Here's what I'm thinking...
The SS board was cheap.
I'm going to buy one more SS board and carefully check for a short at SS3 and SS11 test points before I power it up.
If good, I'll isolate the SN board and power it up.
If it shorts, it's not the SN board. If it doesn't short, I'll move on and add the SN board and cross my fingers.
What do you think?Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P46X3 14 Blink Code
nervous, back to Sn3, I don't expect open at that so what range is the meter set to ? is it displaying OL ? At a guess culd be 60-100k there that's what i see on a 2010 model SN board depending on the probe polarity.Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P46X3 14 Blink Code
Wanted to post an update on this TV.
I purchased another SS Board. It took a couple of tries to get a good one. Gotta love Ebay.
Knowing that the first replacement SS board shorted out, here's what I did after installing the new SS board;
Isolated the SN board just in case it has been the reason for the shorted SS boards. The TV powered up fine. No blink codes. Responded to the remote just fine.
Connected the SN board and isolated the SS board. Same result. No error codes.
Plugged everything in and crossed my fingers. The TV didn't fully start up. Looked like it was trying to start but no blink code and responded to the remote just fine. Quickly shut down the TV to avoid shorting the SS board again.
Purchased a new SN board from SJ.
All is good. Not sure which board failed first but probably a flaky SN board that caused the SS board to short out.
Anyway...Thank you TW for all of you patience and help. You were right on the money as you kept pointing me back to the SN. I learned a lot on this one and am already looking at a 2nd Panasonic.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!
I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

by sam_sam_samI was working on this CNC machine today found no keyboard functioning no control relay powering on
The screen powered on and was giving an operation error but the manual was not very clear about what the error exactly was but with a little bit of troubleshooting and finding out that the control relays not powering on and no keyboard functions we narrowed down to this one switching power supply which of course does not have any indicator LED light they are on the keyboard interface/relay controller board
Found shorted diodes on main controller relays there are 3 of them that... -
by valvashonYesterday I successfully repaired a Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP that had inadvertently been used as a surge suppressor at our transmitter site. It has already been replaced with an updated one but it's coming home with me now instead of being e-cycled. To be specific, this is the MA model that has the blue backlit display and has been discontinued, although this design may have been used in many UPS units including the smaller Middle Atlantic ones in this series.
Here's what happened: We experienced a brownout/surge at the site, which damaged the UPS and took our broadcasting... - Loading...
