SHARP lc-52le700un that has an occasional white screen

I got this TV for free and I was told that it had this problem, but when I got it, it seemed to work fine. So I let my roommate put my TV in her room, and wouldn't you know it, the very next day the TV starts acting up.
Anyways the problem is the screen is bright white with a faint ghosting of the images. Any ideas?

What I've managed to decipher from the SHARP sm is that it seems to be the lcd control unit. I'd post pictures, but the TV hasn't done it again

could be a tcon problem, try reseating the tcon cable, just be careful not to break anything.

One crucial bit of information I forgot to add is that the previous owner said the TV started having this problem after being shipped across the Pacific (from Guam to the NW of the USA). So it was likely caused from being jostled around during shipping.
Also, after leaving it on for 6-7 hours yesterday, when I turned it on this morning, it was a white screen for about 10 sec, and then began working normally.

Before I tear into this thing, is there any suggestions of things I need to be mindful of? I've only taken apart LCD & plasma sets, and I'd really hate to mess this up.

Thanks for tip. That's certainly not something I would've even paid attention to.

Are these TVs that much more fragile than your standard LCD or plasma?

I've realized that if I switch to my computer's HDMI input (with the computer at the log in screen), then turn the TV off and wait a few seconds, that it seems to work fine when I turn it back on. I don't know why, but if that is any clue as to the problem, I thought I'd add that as well.

                    Another TV topic!!
I got this sharp TV that when I first plugged it in it showed the sharp logo and then went to the input screen. This was about 30 seconds and then it showed white screen. Now I can't see anything but white screen. This has a separate TCON and Main.

The TCON is getting 12V and several parts are as well but the VGH line is only .5Volts which I thought is totally incorrect.

Am I on the correct assumption that the TCON is bad somehow if I'm only getting that voltage or is there something else I should check?...

To ask here... I have few devices with white screen problem, actualy nokia 2220 and some fuji? camera, and try to understand what is common problem to cause that issue.
Yes, both devices work everything else probably ok, I mean, I hear intro melody and keypress click sound, DTMF tone, power on off... all ok.
On desk is nokia 2220 slide, and I check all screen connectors and components arround it, measure voltage drop, but all looks ok. I suspect on slide flex cable, but it look ok and white screen is not interupt while flexing board, pushing conectors, and sliding up down. In attachment...

I'm trying to fix this TV that I got from a friend. It displays a white screen only. What is weird though is that when I first turned it on it appeared to work for a few minutes but then got the white screen and I haven't got the picture back even for a second after that initial time. If I plug in an HDMI device, the audio is played through the TV speakers, and the power button turns the TV on and off.
I've tested the caps on the power supply with an ESR meter while in circuit they seemed within spec.
Tried wiggling the LVDS while on and no change to the white screen. Have removed...

Sharp LC-70UD1U Half screen Normal half screen is white
                    by Megan0
My Sharp LC-70UD1U Screen is black and flashing, "I attached the video"

Well, I opened the back cover and as you can see in the picture, I unplugged 2 L (left) ribbon, TV turned ON, but half of screen (Right) is normal, and the other side (Left) is white. I continued to test...
                    Result:
I swapped the ribbons L<-->R = Blinking 2x power light, 5x timer light
                    Unplugged 2 R Plug 2 L = Blinking 2x power light, 5x timer light
                    Unplugged 2 L Plug 2 R = Blinking 2x power light, 5x timer light

Only in the first test, where I did not

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                    by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...
