  • Re: LG 27GL63T-B completely dead

Also troubleshooting a board with little signs of life. Similarly to rodeo65 ic402 no output on pin 3. Are we sure that this should have output? Is it possible this is the intended state while the board is off, and once powered on, this ic may be switched on?

Very cool tool. I managed to find the tcon and mainboard for cheap on ebay so I bought them both, I'll update and let you know what the issue turned out to be once I get them. Thank you for the help!

Thanks for that idea, (pasted the results below) those voltages appear too low or inconsistent right? Based on those readings I went back to the logic board and got the same readings from the test points by the lvds connector. I desoldered the metal shield over the processor to get a better look at it. (2nd time I've gotten to use my hot air station!). I have the service manual so took a look at the pinout on the MSD8220LB-S9. Grasping at straws but figured I should at least check that it's getting power. I found 4 "vddc" lines on...

  • Sharp E50E41NKFMBXNNX white screen

I'm trying to fix this TV that I got from a friend. It displays a white screen only. What is weird though is that when I first turned it on it appeared to work for a few minutes but then got the white screen and I haven't got the picture back even for a second after that initial time. If I plug in an HDMI device, the audio is played through the TV speakers, and the power button turns the TV on and off.
I've tested the caps on the power supply with an ESR meter while in circuit they seemed within spec.
Tried wiggling the LVDS while on and no change to the white screen. Have removed...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

This forum looks like a great resource for repairing electronics, I'm glad I found it!
I'm from Ontario Canada and have always wanted to learn more about component level repair. I repaired a roomba with water damage recently and now I'm tackling a dead TV!
