    Sanyo DP50747 PSU LJ44-00132a

I repaired this dumpster find earlier this month, thread here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42386

All is good if it is kept plugged in to AC.

If left unplugged for 3-5 days it takes about 5 min after AC is connected for PSU to click on and go into STBY. 5v stby is present immediately after AC connected but no other volts until it clicks. Pic of psu http://assets.shopjimmy.com/media/ca...132a-top_2.jpg

Does this mean the main input caps need replaced? I replaced all the caps except for the 5 marked with green. They are the high voltage caps 100, 250 & 450v of various UF. Thanks.

did you try heating the board with a hair dryer or a shot of freeze spray, see if theres any changes? careful not to melt anything.

I did not have any luck on dumpster sets. Usually due to rain and moisture in the set. I usually don't mess with them .

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
        by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

        Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
        by toddw65
        Hey All,

I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.

Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

        Thanks,...

This tv once turned on , makes a 1 click then another click comes on for 6 to 10 seconds shows image and sounds then shuts off. Then clicks again and shuts of in 3 sec with no image or sounds. Keeps doing this. I Did the self test with the logic board and the main board unhooked. It shows all the colors and pattern test fine. Never shuts off. So i order a main board.

Second main board installed and it did same thing. Made one click then few seconds another click. Tv comes on with sound and video then shuts down and does the 3 sec click on and off thing.

        I'm guessing...

        Sanyo VHR-D4710G VCR no sound.
        by hugocarmo
        Hi again guys.
Today I have a problem with this Sanyo VCR.
I bought it online, It worked sometimes.
I recap the Power supply and it started working fine.
Image is perfect and all digital effects too.
All of a sudden it stopped outputting sound. I checked for dried solders an all boards and soldered when needed, no fix.
I have no sound on playback, on tuner, or aux in.
On symptom I noticed is when it was working fine, the HI-FI led was on when I power up the VCR, now is OFF, A-B leds are on but when I put a tape they go off.
On one of the sound processing...

Thermaltake TR2 750W -fixed 5v stby now +5v reads low and no 12v
        by rodd
        Dear all,
I am trying to repair the ATX power supply.
First I fixed the +5V stby, which was zero due to a shorted TNY279 and an open 2R2 resistor.

Just in case I replaced the PWM control IC (PS223) and the PFC control IC (CM6800).

Now the supply turns on, the +3.3V is fine, but the +5V measures only 2.5V and there is no +12V.

I have checked every diode I could find with a DMM (in circuit) and all the capacitors (in circuit) no shorts, low ESR.
In despair I removed the low voltage diodes which were all mounted on the same heatsink...
