Hi all i am new to the forum and was hoping to find some help repairing a Panasonic th-58pz800b. The tv does not have a red flashing light problem and starts up ok. my problem is the screen only shows about 1/3 of the full screen on the right hand side and the part that does show is very distorted and has a red tinge to it , the remote seems to work and scroll through the menu ok (from what i can make out). On the test screen It shows some of the different test patterns but only on the same 1/3rd of the screen and again very distorted and with a red tinge. I have also disconnected the main board and i do not get the white screen. i am not sure which board is at fault when i got the tv it had a red flashing light issue and i traced this out to a blown chip on the d board, i replaced the d board and that is where i am at the moment, any help would be greatly appreciated. is the d board still at fault as it is a second hand one from ebay? or should i be looking for another issue? i have included some pictures of the screen.

I would suggest you re-seat the LVDS cable. I had a vaguely similar fault:

caused by a loose LVDS cablePlease do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Fault on panasonic veira th-58pz800b
hi tom thanks for your suggestion i already watched your video very good and informative. I have tried the lvds cable and it has no effect. i also watched the one on how to test rest of the tv with the main board disconnected i am not able to get the white screen. I dont think the screen is bad as the side that is not working seems to be primed, i am wondering if the fault still lies with the d board or some where else.Last edited by 1967tux; 12-30-2014, 03:46 PM.Comment

Re: Fault on panasonic veira th-58pz800b
just a quick up date i have now fitted a replacement ss board as one of the chips was also blown on that. the tv now has a good picture but only on 1/3rd of the screen. am i right in thinking that this is the c2 and c3 buffer boards ? is there any way i can test to confirm this or is there something else that can be causing this. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.Comment

I'm thinking something is wrong with the control board. Or logic board as its also called.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Fault on panasonic veira th-58pz800b
Usually whatever xontrolls the C buffers. Try reseating cables first. Especially if someone else has been into it before. They sometimes are a trick to reseat them and someone could have not seated them correctlyLast edited by freakaftr8; 02-03-2015, 03:05 PM.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Fault on panasonic veira th-58pz800b
have tried reseating cables no change, tried replacing c2 and c3 no change the original logic board had a fault and i replaced this how ever the board i replaced it with was the same number tnpa4439 but it was from a 42" tv could this be the problem? the board looks identical but im wondering if this could be a software type issue ??Comment

Does this new logic board have a suffix at the end of the TNPA4439? The 58PZ800B Logic board does not. These suffix are very important to follow, if you got a logic board out of a 42 chances are its not compatible.
With my experience with Panasonic plasma's it is very important to replace parts with the exact same number and suffix.Comment

Re: Fault on panasonic veira th-58pz800b
To me you have more wrong if you are only getting 1/3 of the screen before and after then you have issues elsewhere too.
when you changed your C buffers did you try them with the old damaged control board or your new one?Comment

Re: Fault on panasonic veira th-58pz800b
longshot but only other thing to suggest is swap ic9303 and ic9001 across from the old board but either of those eeprom / flash IC is corrupt then you may transfer whatever problem the original had.
ic9303 is 48 pins, 9001 is 8Comment

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by AlicatHello,
Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.
Model number is TH-50PZ85U
Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.
Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
I also hear a few clicks.
I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.
Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...10-30-2024, 10:09 AM -
by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM -
by RictechHello everyone. 😀
As per thread title, this unit has a serious SMPSU fault. It blows F1001, which is a 10A M205 in the phase from the mains input.
Very first thing I tried, was simply replacing the fuse, but the replacement ceramic fuse blew immediately.
Looking at the schematic for this PSU, I then removed what I thought was the next likely candidate: D1001 - the HV main bridge rectifier.
This isolated the fault(no longer blows the main fuse), but does not point me to the actual fault.
There are no devices that have exploded or otherwise show signs...-

by smic717394Hi,
I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... - Loading...
