Vizio VP50 HDTV10A (Yellow he issue.and Green status light flashing)

When I plug my tv in, the green and amber light start flashing about 20 times (10 times for each yellow and green) and then the light goes to a solid yellow. I'm replacing bulged capacitors so hopefully that issue. Does anyone have anything additional they could tell me?

Yes replace all the caps under 100v. I think there are 25 total, not counting the large ones. Had to do this on my 2007 Vizio P50.

Thanks bud. Nothing else seems out of the ordinary
from my perspective so I think it is the caps.

I use a Cap Wizzard but there are cheaper ones that work well like the Anatek Blue ESR meter. 99 assembled or 80 in kit form. Unsoldering and replacing all of them is time consuming and expensive. In the the long run a ESR meter will save you money if you do repairs regular basis

Update: replaced all caps. the tv turns on perfectly.HOWEVER, all the screen shows is red right now. Does this mean bad buffer board? Not too good at this.

Check and/or reseat all power and LVDS cables first. You may have accidentally disturbed another cable.

Also how many LEDS on logic board are lit when set is on, and how many are blinking?

After replacing the caps on power supply, the tv stays at a amber stand by after going from green to amber for a total of 20 times. However, there's something else wrong with it.

Is it worth mentioning that I replaced all capacitors and after that, about 2 minutes after plugging in the tv, one of the capacitors started smoking and i smelled burned residue. I don't think I used quite good solder. Could I have messed the whole power board up? Also on the logic board, I see two lights in the center out of the 4 that are lit up. Here's a picture.

Smoking caps is NEVER a good sign. Check the one that smoked for correct polarity. It is possible it got reversed. If not then there might be a problem on the circuit that cap is protecting.

3 leds lit on logic when on with picture is D3, D4, D5.

EDIT..... Need pics of area where cap smoked.

Thanks Magic I REALLY appreciate your help. Turned the power supply over and saw corrosion on the solder ends of the capacitors. Is there a way you can tell me how to test circuits on the power supply?

What does the logic board lights say? I've been trying to find a service manual. Before I buy a new power supply I really want to know that it is defective before.

                        Thanks again,

                            Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

                            HI.

I have a weird problem with an old Philips 37pfl560 TV i put out of storage: the picture have a noticeable yellow hue, and its not caused by the settings (did a factory reset). I've never seen this before. I will try to get a photo with a real camera, with my phone its hard to see because of automatic white balance, but in real live the whites are really yellow.

Anyone have an idea of what can cause this? Can CCFL tubes get "warmer" with time? This tv have several analog inputs,so its nice for retrogaming....

I recently acquired a set of Bose Roomate speakers from the mid to late 80's. Basically the right speaker cabinet is completely passive, and the left one has the power transformer and amplifier circuit in it. Out of curiosity, I opened it up to see what the circuit looked like. Looks like they used all Nichicon VX (2x 4700uF/16v for smoothing off the bridge rectifier), a couple random Nichicon SE series sprinkled on the board, and what really caught my eye - 2 yellow sleeved Nichicon caps (both 1uF/50v with no real series marking. Below are pictures of the caps. The only thing not shown in these...

                            by multimesut
                            Hello friends,

A yellow light was flashing on my monitor. It was like it was constantly cutting power. When I opened it up, I saw that the big capacitor in the high voltage line was leaking. I replaced it. When I turned it on for the first time, it had the same problem again. But then, interestingly, it got better. The yellow light was on steady. But the monitor wouldn't turn on. When I examined them with a thermal camera, I saw that the Fli5961-LF reached 50 degrees Celsius and the EM636165TS next to it reached 100 degrees Celsius and was drawing high current on the motherboard....

                            Hello all,

I just picked up a LG OLED65E6P off of Craigslist (it was practically free). It functions flawlessly in all aspects except it renders yellows as greens. It does so regardless if the source comes through an HDMI port, or streams in through onboard services such as Netflix.

I've factory reset all the color options, cleared the panel noise via the onboard option, and waisted half an hour talking to LG customer service.

Have any of your dealt with this situation?

I understand OLED's are susceptible to burn-in, and looking at the...
