    Westinghouse LTV32w6hd peculiar behavior

I inherited this tv, the complaint is that a horizontal line was on the screen. Upon inspection the "line" is while running at 1080i, the bottom half of the screen is squashed to be about 1 inch high, then there is a lot of noise after. The top half is perfect. Any other resolution is beautiful(coming from my laptops HDMI) the component input is perfect as well. I was wondering if this could be a cap issue? I find it odd that it only does it at that resolution, and only the bottom half of the screen. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

doesn't seem like a cap issue, not sure what it could be though.

I'd guess the problem lies somewhere on the mainboard. If it were the LVDS cable, T-Con board or panel, all resolutions and inputs would have behaved the same.

          A working TV? How boring!

I also found out connecting it to the Roku, it says invalid format for 720p, and loops flashing snow, then the image, while at 480p.
I tried heating, nothing changed, i dont have any freeze spray at the moment.

I'm thinking that too, I was just wondering if anyone had any idea as to what specifically was causing it. I'm trying to avoid to paying for a new mainboard, hopeful it's an easy component fix.

Mainboards as a whole are difficult to diagnose and repair. Check all voltage regulators for proper output first.
