whenever I do reset with remote, the snowy picture changes but just a little, any idea why I can't get a menu of any type?, thanks.

any other components I can tests with mm on the mainboard, that might cause the snowy pic. and no menu at all problem, thanks.

http://assets.shopjimmy.com/media/ca...bn9401091b.jpg I think I got my ics mixed up budm, I put the cap on ic1702, I think I should have put it on ic102 on the other side, on ic102 my reading is nothing on top and common, 7.97 on one end and 13.31 on other end, anyone know if that sounds like proper voltage? sorry bout the bad terminology, have not been able to locate schematic, Thanks.

ok, thats the one ic1702, I put the cap on, was just a regular aluminum 47uf 10v, extended the leg, that one reads not sure of what the legs are called, the middle and top read 2.50v, left reads 0, right reads 5.17, the other ic102 reads 0v top and middle, 13.3 left, 7.97 right, ic101 reads 1.80v top and middle, 0 left, 3.35 right, not sure what they are suppose to read, thanks for helping.

I remember reading your posts on fixing one with the jumper cap on ic102, wonder if that one is bad on mine too, but the tv doesn't screech and go off and on like yours did.

my bad, I was looking on top of the board and got ic1702 confused with c1701, c1701 is the on I put the cap on, was wondering if it could be one of those ics but don't know what they're suppose to read, thanks.

got these readings from the ics. strike that first line, the cap went on c1701. sorry bout that got those two confused.

its most likely a bad connection under one of the main IC's on your mainboard. BGA style which means ball grid array. Try meeting of the Board like I have done in an oven at 385 degrees for 10 minutes but suspect buying a new mainboard. are you confident you getting proper output voltages from power supply?

cooked it at 400 for about 15 minutes no dififference.

cooked it again, no difference, read about somehow shorting the eeprom, then resetting in menu but cant get a menu up, because pic. is too snowy.

from reading, I think a snowy picture is caused by a bad IC or eeprom?
