I wonder if this is EEPROM or CPU
CPU runs so hot so I burned my finger when touched it.
Could not find original CPU MSD3393LUM and bought MSD3393LU (without M) on ebay. Did not work.
    Ordered MSD3393LUM on aliexpress
I wonder what is the difference

I ended up cancelling my order for MSD3393LUM and bought another MSD3393LU on ebay and replaced it.
The TV works just fine now.
      So these chips are interchangeable.
The first one I bought was probably a fake from china.

Suffix is often for the package type or denotes lead-free versions etc, but could be anything else as well, like voltage range or temperature. Without a datasheet it's hard to say.

I think some of those controller ICs need to be programmed, could be that yours was used or blank (or not blank), or programmed with wrong code (or fake, or broken pull, who knows) or even bad soldering.... so hard to tell with something that complex and no documentation.

Glad to hear you got it working in the end!
