    Sceptre X505BV-FMDR

I have a Sceptre X50 TV that has no picture, but audio. It just went off instantly. There was no slow dimming or buzzing etc. Upon further investigation, I can see the picture using a flashlight on the screen. My question is, can I replace the power supply board to fix this or could it be the backlight inverter or both?

    Thanks for the help!

It could be either. Can you supply photos of the boards in the TV? https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39740

if all your voltages are correct on ps it's probably the inverter board.

Sorry for the extreme delay. The friend who I'm doing this for put it on hold and forgot about it. Here's where I'm at now. I still need to test voltages but here are the photos. Visually everything looks OK unless I'm missing something. Indicator lights, sound and picture is working (minus the backlights)

Please upload the pictures of the whole back side of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together.

LED lit tv so No inverter board, possibly a Led driver board

it pertains to posters who never post back about their results, a lot of people fix their tv and never reply back, so other folks are just left hanging as to what the outcome was, which doesnt help anyone else with similar problem, who may have been following thread, as it appears badgoo has done here, no biggie, it just doesnt help any.

I'm having the same issue ordered a new power supply that controls led light voltage with no result. My leds don't power on the TV still has sound with no backlight display I will be taking a better look this week to determine if maybe a led is shorted causing the backlight not to turn on.

looks like your on the right path, been reading many many posts about led light strings messing up one way or another. makes me want to stick with plasama or lcd for personal use.

I apologize for the no follow up. The person's TV I was attempting to fix gave up and he just notified me that he will be giving me the TV all together for me to attempt to repair and keep. I'll post photos of the boards connected within a day or two.

EDIT: All voltages coming off the supply are correct.
