Funai "LF320EM4 A" Looking for this certain resistor..

My father-in-law bought a used camper and had a bad electric hookup coming in from his home (turned out to be a bad connector, or so he says). When you'd turn the lights on in the camper you could literally see everything pulsing at a pretty high frequency. I'd say 10 cycles per second. lol made me feel dizzy when I saw it.

Anyway, he fixed the issue, but not before it knocked out a microwave and two TVs, one being this one.

No standby light and of course after looking at the power board no wonder. The fuse (F602) is still good, but there is a plastic-block-housed resistor that blew half of the housing off and the big cap has a hole in it, plus its bulging.

I pulled the rest of the resistor apart hoping to find bands but its burnt to a crisp. I'm hoping you guys can help me identify what I need here. Obviously a new cap but not sure on the resistor. Top of the plastic housing reads "(Ph) 5W2R7J" and I couldn't find any results anywhere. All other components nearby tested ok in circuit (diodes, etc)..

    Thanks for the help!

    2.7 Ohms 5% 5W fusible resistor.
There are more likely to have lots more damages than just the resistor and cap,

Sorry to take so long getting back to this thread. Before I order the filter cap and fusible resistor are there any key points I should check out to possibly add to my parts list. Father in law has been patient but I think I've put this off too long.

Check everything? start with the 4 diode bridge d601 to d604
Google dim lamp tester and make one up to help stop frying new parts

          see if Q601 is shorted?

            Ok a little more testing..

            A) These 4 seem fine. Getting 0.546 on all these in diode mode.

            B) This diode reads shorted (0) both ways, but it looks like a different type of diode from the symbol on the back of the board.

            C) Each of these pairs read 0.272, which I'm sure is because they are in parallel.

            D) This little one reads 0.272 as well, but when I switch the leads the voltage slowly climbs to 1 then OLs.

            E) Hope I'm testing this one right. Using diode mode and every leg to leg (even switching leads) reads 0.

Do I need to test any of these out of circuit?

And thanks for the dim lamp tester idea. I'll build one of these immediately!

Took both of the smaller diode's cathode out of circuit and they then both tested ok.

What is the correct way to measure the Q601 component? Does that need to come out of circuit as well?

Diode marker with z (squiggle) means it is a Zener diode. You can read up on them.
Test is the same so 0 both ways suggests not good but try one leg lifted.
Not sure what Q601 is but shorts test is meter on ohms 200 test 1-2 2-3 1-3.
any under 30ohms it may be bad at which point remove and test again

                  A: O.k.
B: should read shorted when in circuit due to the resistor next to it. Unsolder a leg and check it again.
C: I'd unsolder a leg on each diode and check them again, just to be sure.
                  D: same as C
E: Sounds like it is shorted and bad.

While you at it, lift a leg of the big green resistor next to the big bulged filter cap and measure it's resistance.

I actually found a replacement power/mainboard for $15. Much cheaper than I was thinking. When the new board comes in I'm going to take some measurements and I will post them here in case anyone else in the future has a question about this board.

                    Thanks for the help!
