Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
beep/reading same thing
yes i have done this and i get a reading/beep when i run along pins on connector s for ribbon calbes '
one probe on ground and one probe on connector pins.........and i get readings on various pins so this means shorted????

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
have you watched toms video?
you will here a beep once you run your multi meter along the pins which will highlight that you have a shorted bufferLeave a comment:

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
i also used diode mode and probed 5v pin and then other probe on ground pin and i get a reading which means shorted correct???Leave a comment:

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
yes i tried that and i also get readings which means shorted.......i put probe on any 1 of the input voltage pins and then other probe ran across each of the 4 ribbon cable connector pins and i do get readings.........
i jsut want to verify if this works on all y buffers and not jut certain ones
i bought it on ebay and need to verify board is shorted for a refund
thanksLeave a comment:

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
can anyone very how to tedt short on y buffer....i tried srtting to diode...then one prob on floating ground pad and other probe running across all pins on each ribbon cable connector and i keep getting readings on the top connectors which means shorted?....or am i doing something wrong?Leave a comment:

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
On some sets the signal cascades from top buffer to bottom. So short on upper means no pic because signal is not making it to the bottom buffer. And if top buffer not installed but good bottom buffer installed still no pic for same reason.Leave a comment:

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
i touched floating ground pad where screw goes then ran other probe alone each cable connector and on the last connector it had shorts....the connector where panel ribbon cable goes....there are 4 connectors.......this kind of backs up my tezy i did 4yrs ago the uppers were bad using a diff test ...coppell tv .....but the upper i got from shop jimmy is now appears to be shortedLeave a comment:

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
What do you mean on the same cable connector location? any chance a photo of how you did the test or of the bad connector?Leave a comment:

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
ok doing that test upper buffer is shorted on one of the cable connectors...even the one i bought from shop jimmy and all are shorted on same connector locationLeave a comment:

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
Ok, unusual to start a new thread? but try setting the meter to diode/continuity, place one on the Vfg points where the screws would go and then slide the other probe slowly across the pin contacts for the panel ribbons and see if it shows short or constant beep.Leave a comment:

Re: test y buffer for short? part# ebr38447802
i did some research and saw some mentioning of the round copper pads and using diode test but that was for a diff part#,,,so not sure what do do here..any help would be appreciatedLeave a comment:

by G-StingSo My iPad was not charging and booting up . i went to a local technician and he checked with thermal and this Part marked in 1st Photo is Short.
So then i went on to boardview and downloaded the schematics and identified this part in 2nd Photo. Now i am confused what exactly is the part called ? where should i get this from ?
i contacted my technician and he sent me his BoardVIew screenshot in 3rd Photo. In his Boardview the part is called X2826.... Something
SO My main concern is what part should i order what should i search the name for ?

by howardc64All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

by vbogoevHello,
Here I have the mentioned tablet with motherboard s6000-mb-h401. The tablet won't turn on, no display, charging normally. I manage to connect to UART port and got this output when I try to start it:
Code:[PWRAP] pwrap_init_preloader [PWRAP] pwrap_init [PWRAP] _pwrap_init_sidly [Read Test] pass,SIDLY=0 rdata=5AA5 [PWRAP] _pwrap_init_sidly [Read Test] pass,SIDLY=1 rdata=5AA5 [PWRAP] _pwrap_init_sidly [Read Test] pass,SIDLY=2 rdata=5AA5 [PWRAP] _pwrap_init_sidly [Read Test] pass,SIDLY=3 rdata=5AA5 [PMIC_WRAP]wrap_init pass,the return

by StephenI check PPBUS_AON and there is a short present on the line, the computer shows a short when testing for short to ground, so when I inject voltage into the line, I get 0AMPS so no short is showing up. I have replaced a blown cap on this board that exploded and tested for the short and it is now removed. Any suggestions? I tested voltage at the line when the fuses are connected and I am getting 1.2 Volts at the line.

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-
