    Samsung ue46c6530

    Hi guys

got this tv but upon powering up the psu is just constantly clicking

    12 Volts = 0.00 DET = 5.3 Volts
    12 Volts = 0.00 BL = 0.00
    12 Volts = 0.00 PWM = 0.00
    GND HSY = 0.00
    GND GND
    5.3 Volts = 3.0 GND
    5.3 Volts = 3.0 5.3 Volts =3.0
    AMP SB = 5.3 Volts
AMP PS = 0.00 then 1.2 Volts upon clicking psu

    thanks

Hmm, only 3V on the 5.3V rail. Try with main board disconnected.

Too big a set for me I can ask easy questions though?
Can you establish where the click comes from. does the power led go on and off at the same time. What is the voltage on the BIG caps and does it vary with the clicks?

main board disconnected 5.3v rail is 0.00 volts

main 450 volt caps are 0.00

More likely the black box at the end of the board just outside the red circle - looks like a relay? On the end of the heatsink looks like a 4 legged component - is that the bridge rectifier. The two outer pins should be around 300 vDC and the two inner pins 240vAC
              can you test there?

Do you see a BN44-###### number on the power board?

                        Re: Samsung ue46c6530

From my experience, is the mainboard turning on and off. I have a 40C6300 doing the same thing. Mainboards are over $130.
I had two 46C6300 before, with the same issue, just slower clicking.
Usually, I remove the PS_ON wire from the connector and measure it, to see if it turns on and off.
On the old A series, I remember there it was a bad SMD capacitor causing this issue. I'm wondering, if it's not same or similar cause with these models too.

I wouldnt have thought that was correct? or the bridge is dead as if you have
83 on the inside you should have something on the DV.
With the power off can you ohms test the bridge.

Were you measuring the AC Voltage at the two inner pins of the bridge rectifier when the RELAY RL801 is clicking? If that is the case then the Voltage reading will not be correct.

Right now I would concentrate on as to why you are only getting 3V instead of 5.3V to run the main board. 3V is not enough to run the main board. The PS_ON signal is probably going up and down like crazy and that is why the power relay is clicking on and off, that relay supplies AC to the bridge rectifier.

Can you find a pin on any of the sockets marked pson/ pwron/ pwr the board descriptions for the sockets seem to be covered by labels!!
Try to find the voltage regulators on the main board - picture is not really clear enough.
I can make out one on the right hand side of last pic just to the left of the tuner box
has a (backwardC ll) on it and 1117 - there is another ,I think between the two sockets
                                      below that.
