Samsung LE37M86 - Flickering green artifacts on screen

Hi, I'm currently repairing this Samsung 37" LCD, which has flickering artifacts on screen. The PSU had several bad caps, so maybe the faulty PSU has broken something else, but what?
I tried freeze spraying the mainboard and TCON with no change at all
    Any ideas?

Try switching from the picture mode in the user settings menu.
If this fixes it (temporarily) you will have to perform an EEPROM reset.

That did not sadly fix it even temporarily, but it made the artifacts different color, when in movie mode they are red, and in cold picture mode they are black.

Ok, but since it changed, it indicates EEPROM reset needs to be done, do you know how to do this?

Haven't done it before, but quick research showed me that I need to:

          - Bridge pins 5 & 6 on the EEPROM chip,
          - Plug the TV in and wait untill standby light comes on,
          - Wait couple of seconds, do not turn the TV on,
          - unplug the tv, remove the bridge,
          - and then turn the TV on normally. Correct?

I tried it like you had described here (This TV has the same mainboard)
Unfortunately this did not help. When the jumper is connected, the set will not even try to turn on. I did the reset in the service menu too.

That's the same mainboard im replacing on a Sammy, LE40M87BDX, those green lines was the same effect I got when heated a certain part of the mainboard.

It was causing the set to cut out & resetting. Cant give a accurate part location on the board at the moment, I have a look later.

That chip in the center slightly to the right, inline with the writing Tulip 40 dtv. check what components on the opposite side of the board in same location also.

Heating or cooling that chip didn't do anything...
I also tried to replace the EEPROM chip, but the problem is still there.
Might have to replace the mainboard as well, sadly there didn't seem to be any fairly priced ones available... or could it be the TCON?

Looking at that, I would check out the TCON on-board regulator and the multiple voltage generator. I would suspect a large ripple voltage is in there somewhere.

Have you verified all voltage rails and secondary regulators are in spec and stable?

                        LCD TV Green/Pink screen problem
                        by jimjoe123
I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

                        Then each time...

                        by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Hi ! to all fellows out there!

I have an LG 55inch 55RG910V-ZB Curved TV. With the following problem: When I turn it ON with Remote I get a Green noise Screen (attached foto).
I have tried reseating all ribons, Checked PSU 24V,12V,3v ,etc voltages.

The TV opens on the first Green noise screen and it freezes there -no respone of menu keys ,etc -only on/off via Remote. (I also noticed carefully that except from green noise screen there is a ghost image at bottom and left vertical side)
I tried connected the lan and I can seee TV via local lan (as a device I...

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Gen 10 - Flickering Screen
                        by Ado02
                        Hello everyone,

We recently replaced the OLED screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Gen 10. After about a month, the replacement screen began to flicker. Initially, updating the Intel® Iris® Xe graphics driver resolved the issue for about a week. However, when the problem recurred, updating the driver again had no effect.

The flickering only occurs once the system reaches the Windows login screen. Interestingly, if we disable the Intel GPU driver or connect the laptop to an external monitor, the flickering stops. We have tried installing two different replacement screens,...

                        HI guys!

I've got a Samsung LH82QENELGC/EN with a problem and need some advice and I hope this is the forum to use?
I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊

the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.

This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when...
