Samsung UE46C7000 Single Verticle Line from Cold boot

    Hello All,

Ok so i picked up this set yesterday - All of it seems to work other than one small issue; When the TV is cold i get a single vertical line of pixels about half way down the screen which isnt the correct colors.
As soon as the set warms up it completely goes away...

I tried to take a picture but it wasnt cold enough this morning for it to happen.

May be difficult to say, but is this likely to be a panel issue?

    Regards,

Is the screen cut in half or just a small line? I would remove the shield and push on the tabs.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

Just a single line of pixels which is a different color. again, it becomes good within 10 seconds or so...

Is this likely to get worse over time do you think if left untreated or should i tear it down and put some thermal pads on the tab bonds?

        It will go worse.
Maybe just leave the tv off and remove the shield. So when its cold and you turn it on you can see if pressing the tabs will fix the problem?

Yes I have seen this fault before. It will only get worse and other lines will appear shortly afterwards.

Well thats dissapointing... Is this a Tab bond issue Tom? Is there anything i can do to get more life out of it or slow down the degredation?

            Thanks,

It is similar to a tab bond issue but it is a failure of the bonding between the IC and the flex that makes the "tab driver". I have tried before to fix it with hot air, but with no luck. It lasted about a 1/2 hour then failed again. (Though on my set the line was there from the start.)

from what i hear, they usually run fairl warm... I might try adding some thermal pads onto the IC's to draw some heat out of them. It may at least slow down their degredation...

Will let you know how it works out.

Tom, you should try a C clamp. Just kidding.
C series has panel issues, that is something new.

Every Samsung... no every LCD TV has panel issues.
                    Plasma too, but far rarer.

I have had a few C series TV's - the 2D version (C6XXX) usually have good panels and poor main boards, the C7XXX and C8XXX are the 3D models which from what i gather have reliable main boards but unreliable panels...

Tom - Will putting Thermal pads between the IC and the frame help prolong the life of the panel? My theory is that it will help both draw the heat out of the IC and put a little pressure on it...

Well, the failure has already occurred, so it might delay the onset of symptoms... but I don't expect it to fix it. It will only go bad later.

By the way my brother just sent me a picture of his Samsung UE46EH8000 (top-of-the-line Smart 46" FullHD 3D LED TV)…........ the panel has gone bad. Out of warranty by 18 months. I did tell him not to buy a Samsung, and then he goes out and buys another one to replace it. At least, I think I'll be able to get the old one, if only for the spare parts.

I have seen this, with many people.
They have a broken TV of a certain brand and they buy the same brand again.

Hi Team - just joined to see if anyone can offer some expertise in diagnosing an issue with a TV.

I've done a few hours googling and youtubing but just seeing if anyone has any insight here. I got a 55" Samsung UE55MU6470U which seems to boot loop and then after 10 mins will boot, work for a few minutes, then turn off and repeat.

Whilst it's on into the normal Samsung menu/boot screen it looks perfect - so I can't see there being any screen issues. I've seen lots of videos with taping across clock lines to diagnose which particular one may be an issue but i don't...

I get this Asus X450LC REV 2.2 can't boot from SATA, ODD or USB flash drive.

Power on normally. Boot to bios ok.
But I can't normal boot from HDD (windows 7) just freeze on the animation. I can't boot from pre-installed SSD windows 10, bsod: driver pnp watchdog. I can't boot USB flash drive Hiren boot CD or linux mint.

                            Laptop is a GL731GT with the I7-9750h and GTX1650.

                            Full model number is gl731gt-rb71-cb
Serial: (placeholder for when I get home)
                            Board model: G531GT REV. 1.5

Issue: Laptop was password protected with admin password. I extracted the Bios with the CH341A and ASprogrammer. I Initially saved the backup. I then scoured the internet for a rom to flash to the chip. I found a file and flashed it. I then read it back to verify and mistakenly over wrote my backup of the original Bios.

I assembled and tested anyway. The bios worked, I was able...

                            by khuramg
I have an extremely weird problem I'm trying to diagnose on a MSI GF65 Thin 9sexr Laptop (motherboard ms-16w1).

The graphics card on the laptop RTX2060 is not detected on a cold boot.

If I turn the laptop off and then on again, it's there and works 100% for hours. I can even restart the laptop and as long as the laptop remains fairly warm, it will work.

Definitely a hardware problem as I've tried all software fixes and bios re-flashing (bios, firmware and vbios.

When the GPU does not work, the power to the GPU core it not present....
