See third page of the SCH. You have to make sure you disconnect the cables between the main board and the power supply when you are using force on resistors.

Got it! Totally missed that! Any ol' 1K resistor will work? Yes, I would not force it on with the main board on, thanks for reminding though

          Just to be clear...

          In the CN801 connector, shorting pins 1 => 3. And on the CNI803 connector I am shorting pins 1 => CN801 pin 3 and possibly CNI803 pin 3 => CN801 pin 3?

Yes, you can try not connecting the DIM for now.

Back lights fired right up. No power cycling, they've been running steady now for about 15 minutes.

That's good, I usually go about 35-45 min to get those CCFL's heated up as well as the transformer. Do you have a thermal meter?

My meter does temp, but I do not have the probe for it. Ill leave it running then for a while and check on it.

Check for hot transformer, abnormal heat you can tell really fast, just put the back of your hand over top of the transformer (don't touch it).

Another way to tell, if you have an old CCFL that's still intact you can hover it over the inverter board, I think if it lights up dim over a transformer/ceramic caps you have a problem, Bright means its good. Might be the other way around lol since I got a IR thermal gun I just use that now.

Nothing feels overly hot, I can feel some heat coming off them and the heatsinks with the high voltage warnings on them, but they do not seem overly hot.

EDIT: Looks like I will be getting an IR gun, they are pretty inexpensive on ebay, along with a better meter that comes with the thermal probes.

Sounds like your inverter and power supply are good!

Excellent, so it looks like the main board is RIP.

                                      Hi there,

I have this ASUS X453MA Laptop that's not turning on. When I plug in the charger, the green light just keeps on blinking and pressing the power button does nothing.

I have checked the charger and it is giving 19+ V

I have disconnected the battery and pressed power button for 30 seconds.

                                      I tried another RAM stick.

Tried disconnecting the keyboard and touchpad.

Tried disconnecting the HDD and the wifi adapter.

                                      The problem persists.

Hope you could help me out on this one. Thank you.

Hello, I have a Samsung UE46D6100. It cannot be turned on, only the red status LED flashes, the power supply part bn44-00458a gives an output of 5V(A), it is probably functional. I don't know where to look for the error, according to the video it should be a faulty mosfet. I found a mosfet marked WAAH, I don't know what it is. Can anyone help me?...

I read that a common issue with this model is a failed BGA so I ordered a replacement on eBay.

Sometimes the TV would produce an expanding blob on the screen before going black.

I ordered a replacement board off of eBay and installed it tonight and got the same behavior.

Did I get another defective board or is there an issue with...
