Nothing feels overly hot, I can feel some heat coming off them and the heatsinks with the high voltage warnings on them, but they do not seem overly hot.
EDIT: Looks like I will be getting an IR gun, they are pretty inexpensive on ebay, along with a better meter that comes with the thermal probes.Last edited by echodreamz; 10-27-2014, 03:47 PM.Leave a comment:

Just to be clear...
In the CN801 connector, shorting pins 1 => 3. And on the CNI803 connector I am shorting pins 1 => CN801 pin 3 and possibly CNI803 pin 3 => CN801 pin 3?Leave a comment:

Yeah, nothing happens when I pull the cables, the unit acts like it is not plugged in. Is there a way I can test? I tried shorting pin 1 on the 24 pin connector to GND but nothing happened. How would I test the PSU / backlights without the mainboard? I assume I will need resistors to short between terminals.Leave a comment:

I've already tried unplugging everything from the mainboard (minus power) and the unit still does the cycling. The caps though look brand new (I know that is not a good indicator). There are no caps anywhere that even show the tiniest hint of being bad.
However I will replace them as it is a cheap deal.Leave a comment:

For whatever reason now, the unit powers up, the backlights kick on, the unit runs for 20 seconds or so and then it turns off and cycles itself all over again.
I get snow / whitenoise for a few seconds then the screen shows colored lines as shown in the picture for a few seconds then powers off.
I've pulled the cable from the mainboard and the LCD controller and I also tried just pulling the 2 cables going from the LCD controller to the TCON. The results are the same, unit powers up, backlights fire up, few...Last edited by echodreamz; 10-27-2014, 12:34 AM.Leave a comment:

I've also pulled all the cables off the mainboard with the exception of the 2 coming from the PSU. The issue still exists with the stby light blinking.Leave a comment:

I have a ln46a630m1fxza TV, it worked great until a few weeks ago, the picture would fade behind some colored dots / lines (looked like a TCON failure). Now it has stopped powering up all together, simply a blinking red standby light and every 10 seconds or so the relay cycles itself and the process endlessly repeats.
All the caps look brand new on the PSU, only thing I can think is that the mainboard has failed? I checked all the outputs of the PSU (minus the inverter ones) and they all match what the layout states the output should be.
Should I go for the mainboard... -

Hello,
I have a pdp42v18ha (Viore) that powers up, the screen brightens enough to show it "works", I get some red sprinkles in the upper area of the TV. However the TV once powered on does not respond to input buttons, IE wont power off, wont change input, wont change channel, no menu etc. I have to pull the power to get it to turn off.
If I leave it on for ~20 minutes or so, I eventually get a bright blue picture (on channel 60). After another few minutes, the screen goes dark, I hear a relay click a few times and the process repeats.
