OK so I just wanted to let everyone know there is someone on eBay offering board repair services, only after you pay and send the board to them they keep your money and the board! Since the package arrived and was received by them the post office won't intervene, all PayPal will do is refund the relatively small purchase price minus the shipping you paid to send it to them, and the scammer keeps your board. Now I'm out the money and have to buy a new buffer board to fix my disabled neighbors TV

Do you know for sure?How long have they had the board for?

maybe they damaged the board don'tr want to admit.

What has the seller said or are they not communicating at all?

Perhaps you should tell us the name of the seller so we can avoid them.
I assume you've contacted the seller too, to check what the status is.

Yes ive contacted the seller, he received it on the 3rd of Oct, was promised a 7 day turnaround. After he claimed last week it was in the mail returning to me he won't respond with a tracking number. Look up his name, not sellers name, but the name he had me mail it to. Appears he's pulled this multiple times. Always changes his eBay user ID, but same address. EBay ID was mosletha, real name Ethan Mosley. Yea I know shouldn't have trusted someone with such low feedback, but its for my disabled neighbor and being done for free and his was the cheapest. I know, I know, no excuse.

Yeah, you knew what I was coming back with. Not looking good, probably started something he can't handle or hoax. Notice 5 board repairs available all sold so 3 more people to get screwed and leave feedback maybe? or he stopped the availablity.

You have no real recourse other than a paypal dispute and provide evidence of all costs i guess. maybe attach the feedback but it my experience you'll get your money maybe not all but Ebay could not give a stuff about anything except there bottom line. have tried to expose thieves in the past and nothing ever happens to them. Is there a federal offense that can be attached to this since he is using the US postal service to commit a crime? Is it worth the fight or learn, lick the wounds and move on?

May or may not but seems a big coincidence this profile is in the same location as the Seller

May be worth trying to contact via business name and just check out whetehr it's the same person, possiblitiy someone is using this identity and this guy may be copping the fallout.

call and make general enquiry , see if they do buffer repairs, mention you've seen Ebay repairers, not sure who you can trust, may volunteer a clue??

Seems hard to believe if they've been around for 8 years or so suddenly they started ripping people off?

I'm still suspicious it could be stolen identity, interesting story though.

Yea, thats the same info my wife found. Well that and a bunch of other stuff. Doubtful its really in the mail though as he said beginning of last week it would be here in 2 days, well after not showing up I requested a tracking number 3 days ago to verify delivery and no response, tried again yesterday no reply, today same thing.after thats when my wife looked his info up.
If it does show up ill post here, and retract my negative feedback. Still no way to treat a customer though.

People get sick, get in car accidents, family members die etc etc. I know if I were in hospital twisted up like a pretzel the last thing I would be worried about is somebody's broken buffer board. Not sure on the time frame here but you might have to take a chill pill. Failing that, fly to where this guy lives and thump him

OK so after claiming he had shipped the board I waited a week and tried contacting him for the tracking number. Seller wouldn't reply for several days. Filed item not received afar my wife dug up some really bad info on him going back several years. Tried contacting him after my initial post here, no reply. Yesterday look and see sellers closed his eBay account! I'm now out the $36 for the service and shipping, as well as having to spend around $70 to buy a new buffer board, and to top it off this was a charity repair for a neighbor.

Contact your credit card company and tell them to reverse payment if that's the method you paid. Also contact ebay again and mention he closed account which is suspicious enough.

Ebay does offer a money back guarantee on products that are sold. It should have been stated on the initial listing. It's good that you opened a dispute because if the seller doesn't respond within something like a week, you win the dispute and your get your money back. Ebay will then pull the money from the seller's PayPal account and refund your money. If there's no money in their PayPal account, then I believe eBay gives you a refund out of their own pocket. So it looks like, at worst, you might be out of a buffer board.

Well just got off the phone with eBay, they refunded the actual charge, but wont cover the shipping charge. Also was told they don't offer any buyer protection on services, only physical goods. Complete crap as it was listed on the item page when I boughtit, as well as being listed on several other repair services. Anyway, guess I'l try and find a replacement board somewhere.

That guy is not registered on eBay, I just checked. Fixing a buffer board is not something for amateurs. My eBay id is Shane71170 in case anyone wants to check my feedback. I try extremely hard to keep my feedback at 100% and it is not easy, very stressful.

There are a lot of scammers on eBay but there feedback is usually very low and they have not been a member for more than a month.
