• PN60E530A3F bad panel or sustain board? Black static/ "dead pixels"

Hi I've got this samsung PN60E530A3F that has a strange issue that I'm not sure what it is.
I have the exact same model as this that I replaced the ic chip and a couple caps and it's been working fine. It had different symptoms though, and it's better working fine.
I tried getting a pic of the issue but it starts to go mostly away after a minute of turning on. The spots in the picture cover the entire screen upon initial power on.
Not sure which part I should start looking into or if it's a panel issue....

• Re: JLC37BC3000 strange issue with mainboard replacement

Damn, that's the same conclusion I came to. I was just hoping not as both boards I got from the seller did the same thing. Is there some special procedure to initialize LG mains after replacement?

• JLC37BC3000 strange issue with mainboard replacement

Ok so I have a jvc that had all the symptoms of a bad main, turns on shows jvc logo and then blank screen with backlights on but unresponsive to any buttons. Order a new main and exact same symptoms. Seller agrees it's most likely the main and ships out a new one. Install and almost identical symptoms.

Still shows jvc logo and goes to black screen, however I noticed if I hit channel up or down the right before it shuts down it will respond with a delay. It's almost like when your PC memory is full and lags out. Is this symptomatic of a second bad main? Or should I be suspecting...

• Re: Samsung Un55d6000sfxza swapped mainboard worked for 3 weeks. Bad tcon Or faulty p

No, i bought a mainboard thats compatible with my model number but was pulled from a 46" d series. There's several different board versions that are interchangeable with each other. I did not simply buy the wrong board and attempt to make it work. The thread i posted on this is here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=46736
The fact that it worked for almost a month after changing the listed panel size (which is a menu option with several choices for this main...

• Samsung Un55d6000sfxza swapped mainboard worked for 3 weeks. Bad tcon Or faulty part?

Ok, so i got this tv of craigslist. Symptoms were no power at all, no relay clicking, lights flashing, nothing. Isolated it to the mainboard as unplugging the led strip did nothing, however unplugging the main caused it to turn on with the backlights operating. Ordered a new main and it fired right up, only issue was an incorrectly displayed model number. Fixed that in service menu but nticed it said panel self test failed?? Tried repeatedly to self test, said failed every time.
2 days ago turn tv off and when i try to turn it back on i notice no power led, take it off the wall and remove...

• Re: Samsung Un55d6000sfxza swapped main board board now showing wrong model number

Yea its displaying th model number the board came out of so Im not sure if it would brick it updating the fw with this model file. Maybe I just wont use the YouTube app since the picture for everything else is the correct size. Would be nice to have it correctly identifying its model though in case theres an auto software update.

I gotta say though, for only $60 its a very nice set! The guy even gave me the remote and Samsung wireless adapter with it!!

• Samsung Un55d6000sfxza swapped main board board now showing wrong model number

OK so I got this for free off craigslist, isolated the mainboard as the problem. Checked around and saw theres several compatible replacement boards from different model #s. Ordered a mainboard originally from a Samsung 40" put it in and fired rite up.

Seemed to be working good until I tried using the YouTube app in th hub, picture is only about 40% of the screen and cuts off. Saw the TV is listed as a un40d6050 in the TV info. How can I get the TV to recognize the correct model number? If I flash New fw will it brick the TV?

• Sylvania Ld370ss8 board compatibility

hey quick question here, got a Sylvania with a bad PSU inverter, part number is BA71G0F01042, ordered a replacement on fleabay and received number BA71G0F01043. their both listed for this model but one is for a different panel. Anyone know what the differences are? Visually identical boards with what seems like the same components and circuits.

• Phillips 47pfl3603d/f7 capacitors or PSU?

So I got this TV for free, was told it wouldn't turn on. Guy thought it was a power supply issue. Get home plug it in and it comes rite on. Check the back of it and notice there's a melted spot on the plastic. Opened it up and saw one of the capacitors on the power board was bulged so bad the plastic split open. Replaced the 2 samwha 450v 150uf caps, turn it on and theres a wavy ripple looking area across the top of the screen thats slightly darker then the rest.

So any recommendations on what would be causing this? And would a dry cap get that hot? Or should I be worried another...

• Re: warning re eBay board repair ripoff!! what's my recourse??

Well just got off the phone with eBay, they refunded the actual charge, but wont cover the shipping charge. Also was told they don't offer any buyer protection on services, only physical goods. Complete crap as it was listed on the item page when I boughtit, as well as being listed on several other repair services. Anyway, guess I'l try and find a replacement board somewhere.

• Re: warning re eBay board repair ripoff!! what's my recourse??

OK so after claiming he had shipped the board I waited a week and tried contacting him for the tracking number. Seller wouldn't reply for several days. Filed item not received afar my wife dug up some really bad info on him going back several years. Tried contacting him after my initial post here, no reply. Yesterday look and see sellers closed his eBay account! I'm now out the $36 for the service and shipping, as well as having to spend around $70 to buy a new buffer board, and to top it off this was a charity repair...

Yea, thats the same info my wife found. Well that and a bunch of other stuff. Doubtful its really in the mail though as he said beginning of last week it would be here in 2 days, well after not showing up I requested a tracking number 3 days ago to verify delivery and no response, tried again yesterday no reply, today same thing.after thats when my wife looked his info up.
If it does show up ill post here, and retract my negative feedback. Still no way to treat a customer though.

• Re: warning re eBay board repair ripoff!! what's my recourse??

Yes ive contacted the seller, he received it on the 3rd of Oct, was promised a 7 day turnaround. After he claimed last week it was in the mail returning to me he won't respond with a tracking number. Look up his name, not sellers name, but the name he had me mail it to. Appears he's pulled this multiple times. Always changes his eBay user ID, but same address. EBay ID was mosletha, real name Ethan Mosley. Yea I know shouldn't have trusted someone with such low feedback, but its for my disabled neighbor and being done...

• warning re eBay board repair ripoff!! what's my recourse??

OK so I just wanted to let everyone know there is someone on eBay offering board repair services, only after you pay and send the board to them they keep your money and the board! Since the package arrived and was received by them the post office won't intervene, all PayPal will do is refund the relatively small purchase price minus the shipping you paid to send it to them, and the scammer keeps your board. Now I'm out the money and have to buy a new buffer board to fix my disabled neighbors TV

• Re: any site to check panel compatibility?

Thanks Tom, what I meant was the other TV has the same sound no pic issue. Just wondered if it would stay on or shut off and error out with a bad panel? Don't think th guy would let me take it apart before buying.

• any site to check panel compatibility?

Hi everyone. I purchased a Samsung pn58b540s3fxza with sound but no pic. After getting it home I noticed there's a tiny crack in the screen. First question is will a plasma TV turn on and not throw an error code if the panels cracked? Second ?? Theres someone selling a pn58b650s1fxza for parts cheap here, are the panels the same? Is there a site to check or do I have to actually take the back off and check the sticker?

• Re: Philips 52PFL5704D/F7 Sound and Backlight, No Video.

ok update time. after doing the acetone soak the tv worked great for about two weeks. then out of nowhere it showed the same symptoms when i tried turning it on. took apart again soaked in acetone replaced and worked great, for about an hour then vertical lines everywhere and when turned off and back on no pic. seems like a weak solder joint somewhere that breaks when heated up. so would the tcon cause the vertical lines?

I got one of these off craigslist for free about 3 months ago figuring I'd replace a part and have a nice free tv. After pinpointing the problem to the tcon I figured I'd have to pay $125 to have it rebuilt, however I couldn't see any burn spots on the ic's so I tried rons solution.
Soaked it in acetone and cleaned the board thoroughly. Reinstalled it and amazingly it turned right on! Thank you Ron!!!
Also want to say that after my 7yo bumped into the tv it went from turning on with just a backlight to only...
