OK, that cap is not on the board at SJ either.

Re: akai lct3201ad won't power on

Got a replacement board in and this time it powers on just fine, goes to Akai logo just fine, even shows dvd drive fine and says loading, but after about 2-3 seconds the screen goes off, and then standby light. It then powers itself back on after about 5 sec and does the same thing again. This is with the original PSU that is working perfectly fine.

After checking voltage, PSU reads 24 up to the point where screen powers off. When the screen goes off followed by red light, its drops to 17 and then back to 24. On the mainboard, it always reads about 21 until the screen goes off then it drops to 12 then back to 21

Hey good timing I just cracked open an LCT3201ADC last night. Manufacture date October 2006. Maybe I can be of help. If you need photos/measurements or anything let me know while I still have it apart.

This one has problems with one dead speaker and the other cutting out at high volume but otherwise working okay. Very visible bad caps in the audio circuit on the mainboard and a bad bunch in the power supply secondary. I'm guessing replacing those should clear it up but I'll take some voltage measurements for a before & after.

I was told that maybe it had been repaired once before. I noticed that all caps everywhere are CAPXON, except the few bulged ones on the mainboard audio are DECON. I see lots of different looking caps in your photos.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
              by PantherDave
              Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

              Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

              Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

This Sony has a separate AC->DC power adapter supplying 19.5V to the TV power board (JK3)

Disconnected JK3 power board from main board, checked voltages on all the pin outs

At a few pins I can see the power supply providing 19.5V to the main board

Based on the service manual triage.. it seems to be pointing towards the power board (JK3) being the most possible culprit
