Sony 55X900E no standby light, no power. Replaced mainboard already

    No standby red light, nothing
This Sony has a separate AC->DC power adapter supplying 19.5V to the TV power board (JK3)

Disconnected JK3 power board from main board, checked voltages on all the pin outs

At a few pins I can see the power supply providing 19.5V to the main board

Based on the service manual triage.. it seems to be pointing towards the power board (JK3) being the most possible culprit

LED light turns on when I disconnect LED driver board ribbon from mainboard (so i thought it is the mainboard, since i've read previous posts stating it's this).

    Some more questions

    1. Does the 12v supply to TCON only turn on when the power button is pressed on? Though i pressed the physical power button and could not see any voltage on the TCON pins (on the JK3 power board)

    2. I can’t find the standby power pin on the JK3 board power diagram. None of the power supply pins give a 3.3V / 5V output. Not sure if this is the problem

Which brings me to.. it seems strange that there’s 19.5V output to main board, but no 3.3/5V output

    4. Have already swapped the main board, but doesn’t seem to work. I bought from a reputable seller with good feedback from other buyers, but still can’t rule out the replacement mainboard is faulty

I attached more pictures below with details, hope to learn more from all of you. Is there anything else I should check? Thanks in advance

I extracted the diagrams from the service manual, link below:

Can we get good picture of board? Your replacement board had exact same problem? If so you may need to load your power supply and make sure it supplies under load.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

      Hi All,

I have the same issue as mentioned above.
I am also getting about 19.5 in CN9000 left and right pins. To be clear with the flow does 12V send to TCON (from JK3) board only when TURN ON the TV ? (I saw turn on switch is connected to motherboard and motherboard send signal to jk3 to turn on tcon so that it can send 12 V)

Does anyone have schematc diagram for jk3 board so we can check load under each ?
I saw there is a IC (ACTN 7D14) in jk3. Does anyone got datasheet for this ?

      Thanks a lot

Post good focused pictures of each board and one of the whole back as to see how everything is connected.

Ok, you say there's 19.5 on the connector at two pins of CN9000 of JK3 board, did you trace that voltage thru the wires out, see if it stops or actually gets to the mainboard. Maybe check all the fuses, some can be very small on sonys, did you check the little white fuse on the led driver board.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

              Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
              by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:

              • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
              • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Hi everyone, newcomer in this forum, i watched tons of video from Sorin, i like the way i calmly explain things, i did quite some console repair, i am not that bad at micro-soldering, but troubleshooting where the issue is, is definitely where i still have progress to make. Usually i was able to fix the console because the failure was obvious, or because i was able to find someone with similar measures on the board and was pinpointing what to replace that way.
Nevertheless, let's say, i don't come as a total beginner.
I have this old laptop, which suit perfectly my needs, with the...

un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
              by stylishconsultant
              Hi All,

              Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....
