So yesterday I bought a 55" Vizio that I plugged into the electrical outlet (Vizio Orange standby light comes on) - I press power and nothing. Press power again, same result - over and over. I have been reading a lot of places where people bought eeprom for this board and was wondering if you guys really think it could be that?

Re: Vizio VF550M - Standby light only
You need to do some voltage readings first.
Good clear pictures of the back of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected will be a good start.Never stop learning

Re: Vizio VF550M - Standby light only
At the beginning I was thinking this is the main board problem but a friend and I were discussing this - It could possibly be the power board as well. The power board gives power to the main board (I am guessing for the orange light to be on) and then the main board sends a signal to the power board telling it to kick on ( I think that's where maybe a problem is) But what do I know.Comment

Re: Vizio VF550M - Standby light only
On the Main board, above the HDMI's on the left, there is 2 black squares, one of them is not hot, the other will burn my finger off, if this means anything. Also, I get STANDBY Voltage of 5.11 coming from the power supply to the main board.Comment

"there is 2 black squares, one of them is not hot, the other will burn my finger off," That is not normal. Do you know if this TV was hit by surge or lighting?Never stop learning

Re: Vizio VF550M - Standby light only
The main board is not cheap, over $100 dollars. I have a feeling that the TV got hit by surge or lightings which will typically damage the HDMI section which is connected to cable box or SAT box.Never stop learning

by x_orange90_xI have a Vizio E550i-A0 that will not power on. It also does not display the standby light in the corner. I disconnected the main board cable to see if the backlights would light but they did not (maybe this is normal for this set?). I checked the voltages on the plug and they all read in mV or 0, so there's no voltage there. The fuses are ok, and the voltages of the 450v caps read about 160v. I see no visual damage on either the power supply or main board. I have read online that the main board is usually the culprit in this model, but not getting backlights with the main disconnected makes me...

Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power... -
by bunting78First off i want to say hello, as i am new and happy to be in the presence of people that know much more than me in these situations. I have searched through quite a few threads and not found and issue just like the one i am having. I just acquired a Vizio D650i-B2 that I was told just quit turning on and has no standby light. Going through some light diag last night i found that the set has a steady standby 5v at the power board connector. without removing any of the boards yet there is no obvious signs of burning, bloating, or cracking on anything that i see. I unplugged the IR board as i saw...

by fharris1977Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.1 Photo
