    Vizio LED xvt553sv

I need help trouble shooting a Vizio LED xvt553sv. The backlight when plugged in is amber then white. When you push power button the screen is blue/black with no audio. I have a little knowledge of electronics but not much. I also have a digital multimeter. Thanks for any advise where or how to test

Are you talking about the VIZIO logo lights on the front bezel or the backlilgts that light up the screen?
Can you see the screen glow in the dark?

When power cord is plugged in the Vizio logo on the front flashes amber then solid white. When I press the power button, the back light comes on and the screen turns a dark bluish color. No picture or sound. Thank you for your help

OK, we need to check the T-CON board then.

                          White fuses TF1, F4.
Check and see if you do have DC Voltages on both ends of the fuse, meter ref to chassis ground.

                            Here are the reading:

                            98.2 mV = TF1= 98.2 mV

                            5.15 V = F4 = 5.15 V

TF1 the main fuse for the T-CON shows in mV range and F4 shows 5V, that does not make sense since the main Voltage feed is through TF1 fuse.

Well, if you read Voltage in mV on TF1 fuse, then the main board is not sending the Voltage to the T-CON board, which can be bad switched MOSFET, or the processor is not sending the signal to turn on the MOSFET for it to send the Voltage to the T-CON board. This not going to be easy tracing the connections on the main board.

Try re-seating both end of that LVDS cable, also inspect both ends of the LVDS cable and the connectors to see if there is any corrosion.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

                                          Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

Vizio SmartCast TV software bug that looks like hardware
                                          by howardc64
Bug looks like hardware so thought I posted it here. Exact same behavior on 2 different model 4K Vizio TVs running their SmartCast smarttv software. After launching youtube app, press vizio button on remote to return to the smarttv menu, once in awhile, a column of bad pixels will show for few seconds on the left hand side.

It seems the vizio software is reinitializing hardware when returning to the smarttv menu. In general, SmartCast software isn't very good. Also will randomly (relatively infrequent) get no network connection when on wifi and require reboot....

Good day, hope all are healthy and cozy. I could use some help with my malfunctioning Vizio with a blinking power light. I have narrowed the problem to the main board but not sure what to do next. I guess it would be good to start with what I have done.

                                          Problem:
I have no image, no sound, blinking power light. (left it plugged in overnight and it was still blinking the following morning). I tried the Vizio recommendations (hold power button for 30 seconds, press reset button, check the outlet is live)

                                          Power Board:
I am getting 5v only. I have unplugged...
