Hi, Can some one help me please with the orientation of this capacitor I need to replace on the Tcon PCB.
Thank you

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
Hi Tom,
OK i will use the new ones, I did buy 16v and 25v, the new caps you say are tantalums and I have be careful with polarity I see they have a band one end so I guess that is the + end, but how do I know which pad on the Tcon to solder the + terminal to? I am going to replace CP3 with one of the tantalum caps as there is room to solder it with wires.

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
For the caps, you could solder some leads to them, or mount them diagonally along the board.
I would never reuse electrolytic capacitors from an old power supply due to the principle of voltage forming, it can lead to early failure.Leave a comment:

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
Hi,The fuse and caps arrived, the fuse is alot smaller but I should be able to solder it in, the caps are way to big, I have an old PSU that I have removed some caps from the original one measured out of circuit with an ESR meter is 18.94uf. The ones from the old PSU are 11.62uf measured out of circuit. Will that be OK or do I need closer value.

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
Hi Tom,
Or am I going over kill with the Cap? I have one that I will reuse for CP1, so just need one more do I need 10v or 25v ? If you can help with the fitting advice great if not can you recommend another one from CPC?Leave a comment:

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
Hi Tom,
Glad I posted that, or can you recommend a more appropriate capacitor from CPC ASAP so I can add to my order? Or how will I tell which way to fit them and which pad on the TCON is the positive or negative.

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
They are tantalums. They will work but you will need to be absolutely sure to get the polarity correct (if wrong they will usually violently burn.) You may need to bend the leads to meet the pads.Leave a comment:

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
Hi Guys,
Order the 4amp fuse better to be safe than it blow again
Capacitors I ordered the following, hope that are OK? I take it I should fit the 35v one and not the 16v one??

If you could confirm that would be great and I will let you know once they arrive and I fit them.

Thank you so much guys for all your help, sorry to be a pain but can you send link to the correct capacitor as they asked all kinds of questions about the spec I needed.

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
It's being pedantic. Fuse failure rate is proportional to the square of the current. If you wish, they stock 4A fuses... it's generally bad practice to increase a fuse rating but I don't see harm being a likely outcome in this case.Leave a comment:

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
The original fuse is 3.15A. A 3 amp fuse might blow for no reason after a number of power cycles. Sure, it's not that big of a difference, but it's better not having to pull the set apart again.Leave a comment:

Sorry to be a pain but just spoke to CPC who said they do not do the fuseswould you be kind enough to send me the item number/link so I can order them, also the same with the caps as they said they have soo many to offer.
Thank you in advance.

22uF is the standard size and that is what you should order. Some may measure higher or lower, generally higher. Regular capacitor tolerance is -20%/+80%.Leave a comment:

Hi Guys, I have just used my meter which has a setting for capacitors and it indicated 23.3uf. So do I go for 23uf or 24uf?Leave a comment:

CPC sell packs of 10 for about £3 inc VAT. Min order £5 via card, free delivery, so throw a reel of Chemtronics solder wick on there (£2.50 inc VAT.)Leave a comment:

I have already mentioned, the rating of the original fuse is 3.15A. You can find them at any reputable supplier, like Farnell, Digikey and so on. You can also try ebay.Leave a comment:

Do you not have a capacitance meter available, or a capacitance range on your multimeter?Leave a comment:

Thank you,
But where do I get those surface mount fuses? and what rating?Leave a comment:

Re: Matsui M32LW409 no picture but sound
CP3 can be pulled from dead laptop boards or similar, check the ones near the input dc jack or near the battery connector. Any of those will work. For the exact value you can use a capacitance meter. As a guess, it should be 10uF 25v or 22uF 25v.
For that type of fuse, the fuse's rating is printed on it as a code. The code "UD" solves to 3.15A. See here: https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...7263e74802.pdf. It seems to be SMD 0603 size.Last edited by Th3_uN1Qu3; 09-26-2014, 09:51 AM.Leave a comment:

by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
by jchangHi all
I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.
Symptom:
No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
No sound at all.
What I tried:
1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon... -
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!
i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...-
