Sharp 32" LCD Picture failure Troubleshoot

Hi I have a Sharp LC-32P50E which is about nine years old worked fine until 2 weeks ago screen went to one white horizontal line 2 green verticle bands. I reseated all ribbons and cheaked caps on power board.
I contacted a company on Ebay who suplies second hand t-cons and they said it was probably screen or the driver boards mounted ontop of the screen.
I seen somewhere else where they suggested disconecting one of the ribbons from the t-con. The result when i disconnect r/h ribbon screen goes white on r/h side and stays blank with thin light verticle red line on left. When i disconnect l/h ribbon l/h screen goes white and l/h screen goes blank. Am i right in sugesting that the T-con is not processing the picture and fact the screen goes white shows LCD and driver boards work OK. I also out pressure on the six ribbons from driver to LCD and there is no bad conncetions.

If its junk i will junk it but if its just a bad cap or t-con i will repair
Any help would be great Thanks

Re: Sharp 32" LCD Picture failure Troubleshoot

Hi Just joined and yes makes perfect sense to give some pictures sorry for that.
I have four pictures of the main power board. I will take some more pictures with the back cover removed tomorrow. Other picture when set is switched on shows Just verticle line, when channel is changed or i suspect onscreen graphic is ment to be present the white horizontal line shows. Last screen picture shows Half the screen white this is with the L/H t-con disconnected.
I didnt take a picture when R/H t-con is diconected but its the same. I have a PDF Schematic also i can put if up if required.

      Thanks for replies.

It looks like bad panel to me: see PDF about T-CON board.

Thanks budm. It looks like that from reading about it. I have no freeze spray so didnt try that method for checking the screen. I have had the top off and checked the two driver circuit and six ribbon cables with pressure but nothing changed. I have seen youtube vids about ribbon cables comming away but i suspect there is no other fix for LCD with this issue. I am presuming all voltages to tcon are good dont know would bad or low supply cause this issue, Looks like its for Recycle

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
            by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

            Sharp LC-65Q620U White Screen

            Another TV topic!!
I got this sharp TV that when I first plugged it in it showed the sharp logo and then went to the input screen. This was about 30 seconds and then it showed white screen. Now I can't see anything but white screen. This has a separate TCON and Main.

The TCON is getting 12V and several parts are as well but the VGH line is only .5Volts which I thought is totally incorrect.

Am I on the correct assumption that the TCON is bad somehow if I'm only getting that voltage or is there something else I should check?...

Samsung UN50NU7400 - No Picture (but boot screen and screensaver)
            by arbitarytwist
Have a Samsung UN50NU7400 which shows a boot screen and a screen saver if left on long enough but no picture ?

Would a moving screen saver confirm that the panel is ok or it could still be a panel issue ?

Sharp TFT-LCD Model No. LQ050Q5DR01 gray screen
            by Mad_Science
I have a older eddy current tester made by Olympus that uses interchangeable TFT-LCD screens. I have two devices that each take the same removable screens. One is an Olympus NORTEC 200D+ and the other is an Olympus SONIC 1200M EMI. I have searched the internet high and low for service manuals for these units with no luck. Both these units were used extensively by the US military for NDT on airplanes. The detachable screen plugs into the base unit via a weird non standard VGA connector. Buttons on the removable display are used to power the units on. When the power button is pressed the unit makes...

LG 55sk8000 plb ..snow in the middle of screen but can see that picture exists there
            by burbutsalos
            Hello everyone.

I have this TV set which has this issue. It shows a vertical bar im the middle of the screen.
The panel has 12 cofs and the problem seems to be on the territory of the first cof on the right side.
The tv fires up and you can see a good picture exept that vertical part where multicoloured pixels exist.
The strange thing there is that you can see behind that snow that it shows picture but as if there are these pixels in front so you cannot see clearly.

The effect is there even on a completely black screen.

            The screen...
