Sharp TFT-LCD Model No. LQ050Q5DR01 gray screen

I have a older eddy current tester made by Olympus that uses interchangeable TFT-LCD screens. I have two devices that each take the same removable screens. One is an Olympus NORTEC 200D+ and the other is an Olympus SONIC 1200M EMI. I have searched the internet high and low for service manuals for these units with no luck. Both these units were used extensively by the US military for NDT on airplanes. The detachable screen plugs into the base unit via a weird non standard VGA connector. Buttons on the removable display are used to power the units on. When the power button is pressed the unit makes a fait beep, two red lights illuminate below the display and the LCD screen turns a light gray/ white color. The attached LCD data sheet reads on page 6 "Note 6-3 Maximum current situation: Vertical stripe pattern alternating 21 gray scale (GS21) with 42 gray scale (GS42) every dot." I have no idea if this has anything to do with gray screen.
Things that I have tried so far include:

    1. Disassemble and inspect all internal plugs and connections. Reinstall on plugs and connections ensuring that all connections are well seated.

    2. While I was measuring voltages on inverter board I accidently shorted it. When it was shorted the LCD panel gray color dimmed. When I switched inverter boards with the other unit I could get the screen to come back on to the light gray color. I ordered two new
RD-P-0638 SIPF-200A LCD Inverter boards from Aliexpress.

    3. I am thinking that this may be a problem with the t-con board associated with the LCD. I have included pictures of the board. At first I thought that it was strange that both screens were doing the same thing on both machines. I bought both screens used recently for very cheep on E-Bay and I could tell that the screens had been opened before. I am thinking that someone already knew that the LCD's were bad. I have a new T-CON board on order. I hoping that this fixes the problem.

    4. I can get a replacement NOS screen for $210 dollars on E-Bay if I can prove to myself that this is the problem. Unit replacement cost is very high and spending money to fix what I have is worth it.

Can someone who knows more then me please take a look at the attached datasheet? Thank you folks for your help.

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
    by smic717394
    Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

    Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
    by toddw65
    Hey All,

I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.

Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

    Thanks,...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
    by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

ipad pro 9.7" blew a SMD component while replacing the screen 🤦‍♂️
    by ipatch
i have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...

Trouble to identify part (Lunii screen) for replacement
    by FreakyMex
Hello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...
