A guy called with a 2007 50 inch plasma (I forgot the make/model) he mentioned that its has no picture but white & Greg horizontal lines. He does hear sound.

Could be bad Y-buffer if based on an LG Panel (LG, Vizio, Akai, etc.)Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

I have had pretty good luck simply repairing the boards depending on the issue.

This "free from a friend who was going to recycle it" SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H arrived with the bottom center RED LED repeating a four flash pattern. It was treated with kid gloves and was reported to have "just gone dead" and the OLED panel has no dents in the metal frame or cracks.

1) Unplugged, then plugged set in while holding the remote VOL- and Power to factory reset.

TV turns on, lights work sound works.
TV shows white/gray horizontal lines across the whole screen as shown in picture. TCON is getting 12v at fuses, VCC 12v.
First experience with 8k and mini LED. Does this picture tell you anything?
Apparently a "certified TCL tech" looked at this TV before I got it free and said it's a Tcon issue but said he couldn't be sure and wrote it off as a loss and they replaced for him.
Any tip or trick on where to start would be appreciated.

Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. First, the black horizontal lines even overlay the TV's menu. Does this behavior indicate that it's the plasma panel that's defective? If not for the black lines, the TV works just fine. I've cleaned the 6 connectors between the panel and the Y-buffer board, causing no change in the black lines. Visually, the 12 ICs on the Y-buffer look brand new (no holes, etc.). I put my fluke meter in continuity mode and tried to perform the "short" test on the 6 panel ports and found many shorts. But I don't think I'm doing the "short" test correctly and I'm hoping someone can provide guidance.... -
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening.
