75r648 TCL 8K Mini LED White Horizontal Lines

TV turns on, lights work sound works.

TV shows white/gray horizontal lines across the whole screen as shown in picture. TCON is getting 12v at fuses, VCC 12v.

First experience with 8k and mini LED. Does this picture tell you anything?

Apparently a "certified TCL tech" looked at this TV before I got it free and said it's a Tcon issue but said he couldn't be sure and wrote it off as a loss and they replaced for him.

Any tip or trick on where to start would be appreciated.

Going to research the lines. Also going to disconnect each ribbon here shortly and give results for this, just documenting and seeing if anyone in the few hours before next post is familiar with this

Lol simple enough, I disc far right cable and get 3/4 picture. So looks like we are in panel land potentially

I will say looks pretty good. Tape method worked and this TV does look great. I don't actually notice any differences EXCEPT for when I do screen test I can see small color issues.

Now I don't think I can sell this, anyone know how long tape method works for?

You think the tcon is causing this? With the tape there, the TV has a green line vertical on far right and a small white line across top of TV that doesn't go away.

I'd be interested in messing around.

TV turns on 3/4 picture with the far right ribbon disconnected from the tcon and I tried buffer boards and both work. Any other ribbon disconnected won't show problem

Anything I could check in order to fix this? Or you are certain a Tcon would fix it

Using the tape and moving it around I would get different colors and patterns of horizontal lines looking exactly the same. Only when I put in the spot it's in would I get a picture and something useful

you need to take out the bezel, and check if there are no COF ribbon on the panel side left & right.
NO COF = 100% T-CON
COF there = Panel issue .... one of the side COF get hot. and can be removed carefully from the Panel glass

Is there an easier way then taking bezel off? Lol this TV is 90lbs.

Looks like screen is glued down, here's a pic, I would assume it wouldn't have them then?

how much the thickness of the bezel in mm ?

The space between screen/bezel is 1 mm and the bezel piece is 2.73mm

its hard to tell... but 8K from 2021 most likely they have side COF same story when first 4K come out.
but what are this line on yours photo? aren't the same area where the lines showing on the screen ??? ?? photo flipped.. the line showing in yours photo on the top

That is top of TV, and space between bezel. The line is just a little dust

dust line at the same area where are the line showing.. are big story .. why only this dust in line !!!! you need to be detective before technician

I don't think this is the same thing we are talking about here. This little bit of dust isn't the problem here lol. The entire screen is full of lines, with tape I have a small line there and a vertical one. You asked what the line was and I think you are just seeing a reflection or something. Just a space between bezel

one of my principle, who call tape mask as repair method, he / she just playing clown to them self. ( whom sell or thing he did repair with tspe then he is clown) .. at the end i will never join any threat regards those clown.

Well good thing I don't sell anything with tape lol, that's unethical to me. I actually give tape tvs away free to people and I explain to them as best I can what happened to tv.Or I just part the TV out and put boards on eBay and dump it. So if you are assuming I do that well it's wrong. That being said, a neighbor wanted the TV and I was asking how long because I don't want to give it to them and have it break immediately and have it waste both our time. And she didn't care, she is happy with it. But I'm entertaining now the idea that tcon may be causing this and just trying to learn some more and potentially fix the tcon so I can give her a fully functional tv instead.
So diah no it's not a "fix" lol but that's what the YouTube videos call it. The tape fix

Tape method is just a way to get more use out of the junk tv's that they put out nothing more, replacing panel is not economical. Reselling not ethical. So if someone can get more use out of the junk tvs that these companies are making, before they have to buy another new tv, then sure tape it.

That's exactly what I'm saying. If it's inner parts aren't worth anything on eBay, I tape it and donate it to someone with that understanding. If it's parts are worth something I just part it out to eBay. This one would be parted out, but neighbor wants it. I'm first going to get a Tcon though. Not that expensive, and worst case I'll just resell the new one since there is no stock on eBay. Diah seems pretty certain it could be tcon, and well we are about to find out. I'll post results if it works or not.

my post #7 .. this why we as i suggest to take out the bezel to check if there side cof... at same time inspect the panel glass rand at the line area... but you aware of the set weight .. i am free from any guilt lol
