Wharfdale LCD2710HDAF replaced caps but still an issue.

Hello,a Wharfdale LCD2710HDAF. It had no power originally and after removing the back i discovered 5 bloated caps (circled in red).
I replaced those and all of the other big caps (circled in yellow).

The blue standby LED now comes on when i press the power button, however it takes 2 or 3 presses on the power button on the right before the tv powers on, and when it does there is a high pitched whine that seems to be coming from the inverter board on the left.

I did manage to pull a trace off the board but i think i soldered it into the correct position, maybe i haven't or is there something else i have missed and should be checking ?

    thanks.

you should have changed all the caps.
specially the small ones up against heatsinks.
whoever designed that supply with a small cap right up aganist a part bolted to the left sink needs a good beating!!!

what make&series of cap did you use btw?

LG 42LB5D, 42LB5DF-UL, 2008-01, Power On Issue, Replaced PS Caps
          by bcstedt
LG 42LB5D (42LB5DF-UL) from 2008-01, unit is in good shape and no obvious heat damage or cracked solder on the boards.

          Problem:
On first power-up the power LED flashes green about 18x and then stays solid. No backlight or image is present. Click power button, wait 10s for a click and the LED turns red. Wait 1-2s and hit power again and maybe it'll power up fully after 6 green flashes. If it doesn't light up on the sixth flash then the cycle repeats.

It seems that if the mainboard power is left on for a few minutes (solid green power, no backlight, no image)...

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
          by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Seasonic B12 BC-550 – barely 2 years old and with BAD CAPS already!
          by momaka
I know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.

For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:

Sony RCD-W3 Deck A (Playback only) not playing CDs (Disk Error) repair
          by goodpsusearch
Recently I was given for free a Sony RCD-W3 with the following symptoms, CD recorder drive reads CDs without any issues (haven't tested recording function yet because I don't intend to burn CDs on that machine) but the reader drive shows disc error after some seconds of it trying to read CD. Tried both CD-Rs and commercial audio CDs with same results.

First thing to do was to clean the lens but that didn't change anything. Googling the issue revealed that this is a common issue on several Sony CD recorder machines and the culprit is SMD electrolytic caps located on the PCB bellow...

A2681 MacBook Air 13" Short on board question.
          by Stephen
The board turned on before hand but it was liquid damaged, I was able to fix some of the issue with the board, but the battery wasn't charging and so we replaced a few caps and still no luck, swapped out 4 batteries to see if the batteries were bad, and they were all good batteries after final testing. I checked for voltage at PPBUS_AON and no voltage was present which was odd, so I went ahead and replaced U5200 with a new chip since this has something to do with the charging issue and power issue. Replaced but no life still, so went ahead and look for shorts and found an odd area that is shorted...
