LG 49UK7550PTA - after couple of hours screen starts to blink

    Hello Forum team

Have this TV; searched for the model and could not anything so thought I would share in here

Had an issue, some years ago, and looks like some placed sticky tape over some of the lines on the FFC cables between the T con and the mainboard
Anyway, the owner, who gave me the TV, says it starts to blink after a few hours

So I removed the covers, and could not see anything visibly
Removed the power supply and thought some of the solder joints, on the hot side, were not the best. I thought some looked like they were cracked.
So I resoldered any joints that did not look good

Then I turned TV and noted some diodes did not look the same temperature and I replaced these with new
New ones look the same as the old ones under thermal camera

Anyway; since I did the soldering and did the new diodes I have not run the TV for a few hours and experienced the blinking
So I am going to try that next and share the outcomes here.

Shall welcome any inputs or experiences you all might have.

    Thank you

The diodes, or the area around them, appears to have been hot. They measure okay, or the same, as far as I am concerned but I replaced with new anyway.

      Update on this one

With the new diodes I do not note any temperature difference

Have been running the TV for fours now
Yet to see any blinking and I should have by now

I guess the factory reset and the re-soldering of the joints may have resolved this TV

will do another five hours of testing

      thank you

Probably good to clarify what is "blinking" but sounds like you've not seen it. Backlight blinking and LCD panel blinking would be very different problems.

Those 4 diodes you changed looks fairly close to the backlight output connector and after the backlight voltage transformer. I'd guess they are on the output path to the LED power rail. I recently fixed a LED TV PSU with shorted diode in the backlight output path ( barrier rectifiers link ) I ended up replacing the entire board set (main, zoned LED driver, PSU) due to Samsung's firmware update that killed the dimming backlights + max brightness only. Which probably is what killed the LED voltage output section of the PSU.

T-Con to buffer board flex tape masking is still there? Likely solving a short on the panel and/or panel's edge buffer board.

          Hello Howardc64

Thank you and I had read your post a few days ago

The flex tape is still there from a previous repair and I shall leave it there.
No doubt you are correct on this point
It looks like the tape has been heat welded and not easy to remove
So I want to leave that alone

For the blinking I have not seen and I am five hours into testing

Let us see how I go

          again, thank you

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
            by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

Un50cu7000 2 blink oddity *partially solved
            by EazyBone
I write this to maybe help another with this TV.

So I aquired this TV a 2023 model. It started the 2 blink reboot problem which indicates bad panel. It was still under warranty and the repair man came by.

The Samsung repairman brought a brand new panel and switched my original boards to the new panel. The new panel then had the 2 blink error code. The repair guy said he has seen this and the MAIN board on this model will cause the 2 blink. He then replaced the main/power board (they are both connected) and put it back onto my original panel. Voila it worked.

Asrock z97x starts then shuts off after 4 seconds, sometimes more, no post

I have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and...

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

panasonic TX-P50V10E 6 blink led problem
            by Vebririon
            Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...
