Samsung QE50Q60AAUXXH turns off as soon as backlight turns on

Plugging the power in will turn on the backlight after about 5 seconds and then immediately shuts down.

If I unplug either of the two cables with the yellow outline in the picture the backlight stays on and the startup sound plays but no image. Any ideas how to proceed with this please?

And how did you manage to disconnect them, they don't have a connector? You tore them off the buffer board, now how are you going to solder them back in place?

Did you remove the cable connecting the buffer boards instead of the cables marked in the image?

Lotas the are U ribbon easy to disconnect one half as usual,
OP you have 2 solder points, on main boards close to the sockets which come from power supply, make bridge between them , then you disconnect the U ribbon you did early at puffer boards , you will see picture and could know which side are defect at panel.. 50 size always i wrote , they are rubbish panel

Oh damn, yes you're right of course, the buffer boards cable is what I should've outlined.

Can you please show how the buffer boards are connected? I am assuming there is only one flex cable. You can apply the tape method on either end of the flex cable. I had similar situation with a 65 inch Samsung TV.

This connection path is harder to diagnose which side is bad because right side (looking from back) buffer boards signal goes through the left side. So no way to disconnect the left side and see if right side imagine is okay. Only if the fault is on the right side, then disconnecting it can potentially it’s the half containing the failure.

I would apply the tape method on the right side and see what happens. I did the same thing on my 50 inch Samsung.

I'll try this method, thanks for the suggestion. The picture is quite blurry which pins have you taped off exactly?

These are the pins I have masked but in your case it may be different.

LG L192WS-BN backlight turns off after 1 second
                          by www
I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

                          Samsung QE82Q70RAT no backlight
                          by sansanpartida
                          Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a great day, and thank you very much for stopping by and taking the time to read this post to help me with my parents' Samsung TV.

                          My issue: No backlight.

                          Model: QE82Q70RAT
                          Type No: QE82Q70RAT

The TV was already serviced by Samsung once under warranty for the exact same issue, but six months after the fix, the backlight went out again. Now, Samsung is asking for nearly the same price as a brand new TV to fix this with the same 6-month guarantee.

So hopefully, I can fix this cheaper.

A1466 MacBook Air 13" 2017 Backlight issue works but then turns off
                          by Stephen
Hello, got a weird MacBook Air here
board looks fresh and no water damage, backlight works and turns on and stays on when installing OS etc. However, when the os is installed and when the system files are loaded before the login page the backlight goes out. I have wiped it, NVRAM reset, etc and even took some other instances and this blows my mind, never seen this before. Backlight just turns off once the OS is loaded. Anyone come across this and if so what would be the cause? I am certain its a board issue since I tested the LCD on another board and it stays on. Again the backlight works...
