Panasonic th-42px60 always powers up on hdmi2

I have a Panasonic TH42PX60 that came in claiming to be totally dead.
I am thinking power supply right. Wrong. The unit powered up.
I checked all the caps in the power supply, and they are all testing good with my ESR meter, and the set is functioning what I initially thought was normal, except when it is turned off, and then back on, it goes to HDMI2, even though there is nothing plugged in. I can switch it back to tuner, and it goes to channel 3, from there I can change channels.
Turn it off and on again, and it is again on HDMI2.
It doesn't matter what input is set to it always reverts to HDMI2.

Anyone seen a strange problem like that before?

Try changing power up mode in setup menu from AV to TV.

I don't see any option to change power up mode in setup menu. Is this in a hidden service menu?

Maybe the PSU suffered some temporary overload and shutdown, only resettable by pulling the plug, which the owner may not have tried?

Does this set retain other user settings like contrast and brightness and volume when power cycled ? Maybe the serial eeprom is fubar.

            Panasonic TC-P50U50 Powers Off - 8 blinks
            by nobbnobb1
            Hello,

I have a Panasonic TC-P50U50 plasma TV which powers on briefly, then powers off and flashes the power light with 8 blinks. This TV is infamous for this, of which the suggestion that the SS board has failed due to loose grounding screws and requires a replacement of the following components on the SS board:

            2x DG302 (Q16051)
            2x RF2001 (D16041)
            2x 5.6 ohm SMD resistor
            1x BD8694 IC

I have already gone ahead and replaced these components, as well as cleaning off the ground connections on the SS board as well as the associated...

            Panasonic Heatpump Dryer Repair

I picked up a Panasonic NH-P70G2, though it would apply to the NH-P80G2, NH-P70G1 and NH-P80G1 models as well, as maybe some other models. This one was coming up with a H86 error. After lots of testing and googling it was an error with one of the thermistors in the condenser area.
The attached French service manuals is incorrect, TH11 is gray and is a 95k thermistor and TH12 is black and is a 35k thermistor.
In my case TH12 was bad. I was able to get a 35k thermistor on AliExpress. It's 6mm in diameter.
Unfortunately the whole machine has to come apart to fix it.
            I have...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
            by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Samsung QN82Q70RA powers on then powers off
            by nosaj
I have a samsung QN82Q70RA powers on then powers off. Using some info on the interwebs. I disconnected main board from power supply and backlight shows blue and stays on indicating power supply is good. So next I unplugged one on the lvds cables that connects to screen( I think other side goes to tcon board?) i can get a blue screen and if I press the picture button on the remote i get rain sounds and birds chirping. A lot of videos suggest using kaptan tape to cover the clock signals, but I've been unsucessful there.
So I thought I'd just quit messing around and come to the best site...

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
            by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...
