Emerson LC401EM3F will not turn on

Emerson LC401EM3F was in a house that was stuck by lightning and will no longer turn on. When plugged up or power button pressed red light comes on and blinks about 14-15 times then stops and stays red. Also can here the big capacitor click coming on and then again when off. I tested big cap and its read 340 or so on power on and when powers off goes down to 100. I noticed a burn spot on the bottom of the power board and on the LCD metal housing. I have tested every diode and have found 2 (circled red in pic) they read 57 both ways, and then a group of diodes (in the green circle) read fine the right way but will when switched but will continue to go up to about 2000 and then read as open connection on my multimeter while all the others read ~500.

If we are to spot problems we need to see GOOD pictures of YOUR boards.

check thermistor, varistor, bridge rectifier, all fuses, controller ic and surrounding components, also check output diodes from the smps transformer

Re: Emerson LC401EM3F will not turn on

Sorry I had the pictures just forgot to upload them. The short as not on the actual leg of the big capacitor but next to it off of the a jumper wire. I checked the main fuse its good and the varistor show open connection.

the image uploader wouldn't work so here is link http://imgur.com/a/zEooq

Re: Emerson LC401EM3F will not turn on

There is no bridge rectifier either - its 4 of the diodes. Any diodes you have checked that you think are bad will need one leg lifted to test properly see here
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10419 post 19- lost of tests.

Clean up the burn area with IPA and make a really good job of resoldering the link its carrying 340+volts

Your pictures are too big to load all at once max is 3mb per go so you may have a few goes with
2 at a time (or reduce the size)

Varistor should not be open -how many ohms? set may work without it but will need replacing
              at some point.
