Sanyo DP46840 Horizontal lines and ghosting

This tv was given to me a few months ago because a couple of problems showed up and they didn't want to fix it, so I took it apart to see if I could find the problems.

The 1st problem was the right side of the screen was darker than the left and was solved (at least for now) by repairing the tab bond on the right side. It still shows up for a minute or 2 when you first turn it on but clears up and is good until you turn it off again for a while and then the same until it warms. I can live with that.

The 2nd problem was after the tv was on for about 15 minutes the picture would freeze and gradually go dark. You could turn it off and right back on and it would be ok for another 7 or 8 minutes then it would do it again. I figured something was getting hot so I put a fan behind it and that stopped it from going freezing and going dark for now.

The 3rd problem. I hadn't had time to mess with it anymore but the new problem popped up about a week ago with Horizontal lines that cover the whole screen and Ghosting kinda like an old analog tv with an antenna hooked to it. They showed up at the exact same time as well. I'll post some pics.

The things I have tried are removing and reseating all connectors or cables on everything with no change. I disconnected each ribbon one at a time from the tcon to panel and each half of the screen still had the horizontal lines with the second ribbon still connected. I noticed a small burn mark on a chip on the tcon board. The board has this chip labeled U105 if that helps any. I removed the tcon board and the back side was also was showing signs of a heat problem under the area where the burnt chip is.
I know that Horizontal lines probably mean a panel failure but is there any chance the tcon could cause this? I figure it was probably the reason for my 2nd problem at least.

Thank you for any help you can give.

I can try to clean it and maybe get part of the numbers off of it. I can replace the chip if I can find out what it is or if not I can get another board. I will pull the board back out in a little while and see what I can figure out. Thanks for the reply.

After looking at the board again I had forgotten how small that chip was and I would never be able to replace it without causing more problems than what I already have so I have decided to just go ahead and get a replacement board. I'll order the new board and report back with my results when I get it.

I replaced the tcon board today and the Ghosting and Horizontal lines and the picture freezing problems are now gone. I'm really happily surprised because I really wasn't expecting it to help or at least not fix everything, I was thinking the panel was bad so i'm very happy about the results and it just cost me $32, thank you Shopjimmy.com.
I hope my experience will help someone else

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
            by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
            by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

            Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA Horizontal lines
            by x_orange90_x
I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...

            Samsung QE50Q67TAU - horizontal lines
            by Rubenlily
            Hello,

First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

I'm no expert but I've done the tape...

Physically bending the T-Con board creates horizontal dotted lines on OLED55CXPUA
            by fredtred
            Hello!
I have been trying to solve this issue the past 12 months to no avail. I have been a lurker here during that time but finally decided to post my problem and see if anybody knows a solution.

            Problem
My tv (OLED55CXPUA) has an issue where it displays horizonal lines of dotted artifacts.

            (See Attachment 1)

            Self Diagnosing
After a very long troubleshooting period I traced the issue to the T-Con board. If I gently flexed/bend the board I could make the display go from GOOD to BAD and vice versa. I have ruled out the connectors/wires...
