  • Re: Sanyo DP46840 Horizontal lines and ghosting

I replaced the tcon board today and the Ghosting and Horizontal lines and the picture freezing problems are now gone. I'm really happily surprised because I really wasn't expecting it to help or at least not fix everything, I was thinking the panel was bad so i'm very happy about the results and it just cost me $32, thank you Shopjimmy.com.
I hope my experience will help someone else

After looking at the board again I had forgotten how small that chip was and I would never be able to replace it without causing more problems than what I already have so I have decided to just go ahead and get a replacement board. I'll order the new board and report back with my results when I get it.

I can try to clean it and maybe get part of the numbers off of it. I can replace the chip if I can find out what it is or if not I can get another board. I will pull the board back out in a little while and see what I can figure out. Thanks for the reply.

  • Sanyo DP46840 Horizontal lines and ghosting

This tv was given to me a few months ago because a couple of problems showed up and they didn't want to fix it, so I took it apart to see if I could find the problems.

The 1st problem was the right side of the screen was darker than the left and was solved (at least for now) by repairing the tab bond on the right side. It still shows up for a minute or 2 when you first turn it on but clears up and is good until you turn it off again for a while and then the same until it warms. I can live with that.

The 2nd problem was after the tv was on for about 15 minutes...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hello everyone,

My name is Rick and I joined a while back and just realized I hadn't introduced myself yet that I know of anyway but I have learned a lot from reading different threads here. I'm glad there is a sight like this where you can get help with problems or help others if you can and the people are friendly as well which is not always the case, so hello all and thank you.
