Panasonic Plasma TC-P50U50 8 blinks SS board fix

I got this TV with 8 blinks, searched this forum, this is a comon issue with this model, the SS board problem due to the bad contact with the ground in the panel.

Open the cover and checked the SS board, 3 parts were damaged: D16041(RF2001), Q16051(DG302) and R16051 (5.6 Ohm resistor).

Take out the board and found there were arcing marks in the panel, and the SS board as well.

    Cleaned all thoese arcing marks.

The RF2001 is easy to find in the old plasma board, I have other board which has 5.6Ohm resistor and a DG302, but its package is different.

Replaced the RF2001 and the 5.6Ohm resister

To the DG302, what I did was to desolder the headsink, made a good area on the pcb board for the DG302 as heatsink, soldered it to the PCB board.

Put the board back, it works perfect.

One more thing I did to this TV: I found the heatsinks on the SC board were very hot after a while, so I added a computer CPU fan near the SC board, I hope this can make its' life longer.

I just repaired one. Got a kit from Shop Jimmy.I did not use all the parts. 20 bucks plus shipping. I used Q16051(DG302) and R16051 (5.6 Ohm resistor). DG302 was shorted across all three legs and it burnt open the smd reisitor. The other parts were fine. Sets woorks good again. The kit was not too bad because people wanted 9 bucks for DG302 alone. I could not find the 8 pin IC anywhere so I bought the kit. I was able to find a PDF on the IC and checked it for shorts and it checked good. The Drain is soldered underneath and can cause damage to board if removed. I did not want to chance it because it did not seem to be shorted.

The DG302 I had was bad was the one mounted to the heatsink not the one on the board that uou have pictured

I also got the kit from shop jimmy and went ahead and replaced D041 and Q051. D041 ckecked good after removal but Q051 was shorted. R051 checked the same as the new one in the kit so I left it alone as well as IC152.

TV fired up, no blinks. We will see. This Forum rocks!

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic P50VT20B Plasma 12 Blinks, Power Supply or A-Board?
          by Biruslapio
Hello, I've had this TV for 3 years, 2 years ago it stopped working signaling 12 Blinks, SOUND_SOS according to the service manual.

It has no VSUS or VDAT, and P15V has 1.0V instead, the same 15V goes to A board. F15V is ok and other main voltage rails.

It seems the power supply is defective, since unplugging D20 ribbon cable that goes from D-board to SC-board makes the behavior change, the TV stays on, there's no image nor VSUS, but 15V reads 2.4V, high enough to not trip the SOS 12 blinks, so it stays on, fans do not spin but I left it 2 hours, green led lit up...

          Panasonic Viera Plasma TH-42PX75U 7 Blinks/8 Blinks/burned P board?
          by mmischni
          Greetings friends,

I have a Panasonic TH-42PX75U manufactured in 2007. It has been trouble-free until recently. One evening I turned it on and it then powered back off and gave 7 blinks.

First a question about the blinks. Everyone only speaks of a single number of blinks. I noticed on my TV, it blinks one fewer times for the first group of blinks, then blinks the full number repeatedly. So for my first code in question, the TV switches off, blinks 6, then blinks 7 repeatedly. When I disconnected the SC board, the TV switches off, blinks 7, then blinks 8 repeatedly....

Sony KDL-40Z4500 LCD with stripes and 9 blinks (possible BGC board or harness problem
          by huj3r
          Hi there!

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 which shows a colored vertical stripes pattern when turning on, with a central black shadow that slowly dissipates within the first 10 seconds.

Photo of the situation after the black shadow dissipates:

After this behavior the red LED will blink 9 times, then pause for a bit, and blink again 9 times, in a loop.

I checked the manual (available here) and this corresponds to "HFR error", quoting from the manual:

          > This indicates HFR Communication error. [ HFR Communication...
