Hi there!
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 which shows a colored vertical stripes pattern when turning on, with a central black shadow that slowly dissipates within the first 10 seconds.
Photo of the situation after the black shadow dissipates:
After this behavior the red LED will blink 9 times, then pause for a bit, and blink again 9 times, in a loop.
I checked the manual (available here) and this corresponds to "HFR error", quoting from the manual:
> This indicates HFR Communication error. [ HFR Communication error ] Mouton (IC5505) micro (on BGC board) is communicating with T-con board. Check above and replace BGC board or LVDS harness (between BGC board and T-con board).
This is a map of the TV circuitry:

I tried a different board and I get the same identical pattern, so it's not the BGC board.
What should I do now? I tested all pins of the LVDS harness (photo here of a different model, but harness looks the same) and noticed that the last two pins are shorted e.g. 0 resistance between them. I do not have another cable to verify, nor the pinout, so cannot tell whether it's normal not.
Any help appreciated, thanks!
