    Vizio VP422 HDTV10A - Vertical Line

    Hello all,

New to the forum. I have a dumpster find Vizio VP422 HDTV10A Plasma TV that I come across. It has one thin (1 px wide) vertical line. On a black screen, the line is not visible (twinkles a little though), on the the blue no-input screen it appears green and twinkles a bit.

Examining Caps, everything looks in proper order. I have reseated and cleaned the ribbon cables on the left side of the panel.

My next thought is to try the lower cables from the bottom buffers (unfortunately they are under everything).

Reading around makes me think it is probably a bad panel/IC on cable but I am optimistic.

A couple of pictures are attached for reference.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks.

That would be a bad plasma panel unfortunately. Nothing can fix that, on the plus side everything else looks in good order so you could just take it apart for spare parts. The X-main in particular is a common failure so worth a few $.

      Thanks for your response Tom.

I thought that might be the case. No worries, it was free!

Not to bump an old thread but I have this issue as well, except it's on the left side of the screen. Thanks for the answer, tom!
