Will replacing my Y-main board get rid of the plasma "buzz"?

So I've got the back off of my TV for other reasons and while I was there I found the source of the constant buzzing sound coming from my TV for as long as I've had it (see attached photo). If I replace this board is there a good chance that buzz will stop? Or is it just the nature of that component that it's going to buzz no matter what?

$66 on Shop Jimmy would be a small price to pay to never hear that buzz again. Or just soldering in a new one of whatever that component is.

Appears to be a transformer to me. Does it get hot? If you press on it does the buzzing stop or decrease? If it's getting hot it may have shorted windings and needs replacing, if not and the pressure stops the buzz then the core or winding may be loose and you could try injecting some epoxy or other cement into it if possible. It looks like it is glued up pretty good already but that doesn't mean something hasn't worked loose inside anyway.

Left if on for about 5 minutes and it got slightly warm to the touch, but I wouldn't say "hot". A couple of the heatsinks surrounding it got uncomfortably hot, but I would expect that.

The cable that runs along the top of the screen from the Y-main to X-main board (it's the wider one at the top right of my photo) got pretty warm...is that expected?

All Y-main boards will come with a slight buzz, it depends how well they're built. But you should make sure all the screws that hold them in are nice and tight, if they aren't then it'll allow the board to vibrate slightly which magnifys the buzz.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
          • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
          • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

My 3.5 years old monitor (BenQ SW2700pt) started to black out for 1-2 sec every minute or so, it was doing this even with PC disconnected from it. I searched online and read that it's probably aging capacitors and there's a workaround to lower the brightness.

I lowered it from 100 to 65% and it indeed helped, but after a couple of months the issue returned... I continued to lower the brightness, but it helped only for a couple of hours at most, then I needed to lower it further... Turning the monitor off and waiting for it to cool down also helped for a short time, after which it...

          Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...
