Re: Will replacing my Y-main board get rid of the plasma "buzz"?
Left if on for about 5 minutes and it got slightly warm to the touch, but I wouldn't say "hot". A couple of the heatsinks surrounding it got uncomfortably hot, but I would expect that.
The cable that runs along the top of the screen from the Y-main to X-main board (it's the wider one at the top right of my photo) got pretty warm...is that expected?...

Will replacing my Y-main board get rid of the plasma "buzz"?
So I've got the back off of my TV for other reasons and while I was there I found the source of the constant buzzing sound coming from my TV for as long as I've had it (see attached photo). If I replace this board is there a good chance that buzz will stop? Or is it just the nature of that component that it's going to buzz no matter what?
$66 on Shop Jimmy would be a small price to pay to never hear that buzz again. Or just soldering in a new one of whatever that component is.

Re: Intermittent blank screen on a Samsung PN64D7000 plasma
Is that a common problem? The connectors seemed very solid and were plugged in fully. And I hadn't touched those connections before today...seems odd that they would fix and unfix themselves randomly over the past few months, no?
It felt to me like it would in some way be heat or capacitance related since leaving the set unplugged for a while is what seemed to fix everything. If it was a digital component problem I would think it would just be broken and that's it, but this comes and goes...

Intermittent blank screen on a Samsung PN64D7000 plasma
Hey guys,
So I've got an interesting one. Over the past six months or so, on a random day, after a couple hours of use, my screen would go black and the TV would stop responding to the remote. Pressing any key would just cause the LED at the lower left to blink rapidly, but nothing would respond, not even power off. The only solution I'd found was to unplug from the wall for a couple of hours. Plug back and it would be fine, sometimes for weeks or months. This has happened intermittently.
Yesterday the screen went blank when I tried to turn it on for the first time...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
New guys here!
I've got a Samsung PN64D7000 64" plasma that recently went on the fritz. For the last 6 months or so the screen would go black if the set had been on for a few hours and would stop responding to the remote (the led on the front would rapidly blink a few times but that's it). Unplugging it and plugging it back in after an hour or would would bring it back to life. Then we'd go a couple of months with everything working fine. Then it would start again.
Yesterday it went into permanent...
