    Re: vizio E470VL unusual question

    I think you may be right about the resistors, I will double check the bridge too and post my findings.

          regularly.
          they are used as fuses or to bridge across other tracks.
          sometimes even as option jumpers.

            well that is what R747 is. i knew that it had to be a fuse or something like that.

                Re: vizio E470VL unusual question

                okay, finally got back to it. I cleaned up the solder bridges and now when I plug it in the logo goes from orange to white without pressing the power button. I still only have 5v standby. Is this an indication of a defective eprom?

                  Re: vizio E470VL unusual question

                  .time for an update. after cleaning up the bridged solder joints, i left r727 off and did not replace it because one side went straight to the HDMI chip that I removed. I ordered an eprom and replaced that and still had only 5v with orange logo. so i either should have installed another r727 chip or the main board had other problems. So i found a replacement on ebay for $65 with free shipping It came in today and i intalled it and the tv came right on and is working great.

                    Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                    by Tynan Dill
                    I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                    Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                    I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                    The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                    With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                    Vizio E470VL got +5VSB, but no 12V
                    by Bugman1400
                    EDITED: I thought my Vizio E470VL has +5VSB and no 12v on the PS board, but after plugging the cable back in and testing the pins on the Main board I realized that I do have 12V. I assume the 12V is turned on when the ON/OFF switch is pressed. The Vizio light in front does go from Standby Orange to White when ON. But, I still have no picture or sound. Test values of PS board are below.

                    +5VSB= +5.09
                    12V= +12.18
                    PS_ON= +2.25
                    I_ON/OFF= +3.27
                    LAMP= +3.18
                    DIM= +2.97

                    Any more testing I can do on Main board or is it just a replacement?...

                    Vizio TV E470VL SMPS Flucuation Output Voltage
                    by dholley
                    Would someone please help troubleshoot a Vizio 47" TV Switch Mode Power Supply with 5 volt output fluctuating voltage. The voltage fluctuates at 5 the volt output and at the Pulse Switch Modulating IC at VCC. I have the following notes:

                    1. The 3 main filter caps all have approximately 167 volts steady
                    2. I have replaced 4 mosfets next to what I think is called the inventor transformer (big black transformer) pictures attached
                    3. I have replaced Fuse F102 with an equivalent
                    4. I have check all diodes and caps and they seem to be ok
                    5. I replaced the 431...

                    Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel
                    by howardc64
                    Failure Symptom

                    No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

                    Where is the short?

                    Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

                    Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...
