    LG 47LW450U fixed itself.

I have this TV in for repair, Original fault description was "Stuck in standby" and sure enough when we tried to power it up it would flash red a couple of times, then blue a couple of times then return back to red and the set was back in standby.
The owner of the set said all they did to make it go off was to catch the power cord of the TV as they walked past with their foot and that was it, the set went dead. It cannot have been any serious pull on the cord as there appears to be zero damage to either the cord or the entry point on the back of the TV set where the cable goes in. ( This was a mere co-incidence I think. and is not related to the cause of the fault? )

I removed the back of the TV and did the usual basic cold checks for short circuit power lines and the likes, after this I move on to isolating each part of the TV one at a time so disconnected the T-con board and tried powering the set.
It fired up no problem so to confirm it was the T-con board at fault, I plugged it back in to see the fault re appear but on firing it up again, the TV just worked, no fault, it came on with the picture exactly as it should.

All I had done was to power up the TV with no T-con board, then reconnect the T-con board and it worked, I cannot get the TV to reproduce the fault, What happened?

I can't figure out what went wrong. Any ideas why this has fixed itself? Please do explain if you can.

bad connection in the cable or a dirty connector.sometimes a contact wipe from what you did fixes it forever.
or you have an intermittant that will return shortly...

      It returned.

Good news though, I've spent an entire day on it but found a dry joint on a smd choke. What a pain that was to find. but it was the cause for sure.

Fixed that but now I have no DTV Signal which did work earlier. Pulling my hair out now...

This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...

        TCL 55P607 / 55P605 tcon dump
        by ziddey
Picked up this tv in non-working condition. On plug, the backlight would come on, and the led would flash about 16 times before cycling. So my initial guess was a fault with the mainboard. However, after holding down the reset button and plugging in power, it actually booted and stayed on. Still no display, but backlights good, and could hear roku sounds when pressing physical/remote buttons. No more cycling.

Next, detached one panel ribbon at a time, and got the respective white half, and banding on the other. Tcon seemed like common / likely culprit and are available cheap. Confirmed...
