anyone have a source for the 10 amp 300 volt diodes Samsung uses in their power supplies? they are to220 case isolated tab common cathode and common anode. I need one of each and their numbers cross to nothing. I have repaired this set twice using common switching diodes, they just don't last long. they go in a pn50a550.

Re: 10 amp 300v diodes
I believe Tom advised in your last post on theis set that Digikey have some or at least one

Re: 10 amp 300v diodes
Mouser has ON Semiconductor Ultrafast 600V 10Amp diodes that would work. If the 300v are always failing up the voltage rating

Re: 10 amp 300v diodes
selldoor, yes I did and I bought the one type 10 of them. the other one fru10uc30 I cant find anything to replace it other than taking 2 singles and butting them with a jumper. and its not a voltage problem really its more heat related. just no where to get a fan close enough to the heatsink rail to do any good.Comment

Re: 10 amp 300v diodes
Those both appear to be common CATHODE types the one he is struggling to find is common ANODE typePlease upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: 10 amp 300v diodes
thanks selldoor, the only place I found is a china source which is probally not worth trying. guess I will continue with the fast switching diode, this time I mad a mount from brass where I could at least heatsink these. tha common anode I have 8 more of but when the common cathode goes it takes out one side of the common anode. I have repaired it twice now. Samsung dosent even have them and when they did they were 27.00 us a pop.Comment

Re: 10 amp 300v diodes
I thought you said the other way round ? you have a supply of common CATHODE
from digikey? Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: 10 amp 300v diodes
yes, I have it backwards, I got distracted by my wife.
steve the plain diodes I have been using to make the dual from have no tab the originals do. I made what I have by back to back switching diodes. common anodes I have I need the common cathodes. with the homemade heatsink these may last a bit longer. thanks for trying to help .Comment

by japlyticWith 7 segment LED displays, are common cathode units more common than common anode units?
From what I see, common cathode units have simpler drive circuitry. -
by caspianDear members,
I have a linear variable power supply with unknown brand name that I used for voltage injection.
Then it failed. I discovered that its transistors (Q1 and Q2) are shorted.
In addition, I discovered that its zener diodes are defective.
I can replace the burned transistors.
But I do not know the model of the zener diodes. the model number is not marked on the zener diodes.
Therefore, I cannot replace the zener diodes.
I do not want to test the zener diodes in a test circuit to discover their model or value.

by magistertcThis problem is based on my experience with an ASUS Z390 Prime motherboard, but it appears to affect other motherboards
as well Install a new CMOS battery, configure computer, turn off computer and disconnect from AC power or switch off SMPS.
Return somewhat later and find that battery is drained, dead, or weak. Clock is wrong, other settings lost, etc.
Examine the power 'sharing' circuit -- when the ATX 3V supply is on, the computer will function normally. The computer is also
configured to support the RTC and some volatile RAM (when SMPS is on). What you may...-

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.
Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today.... -
by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.
